Anyone else looking forward to the World Cup? Came just in time because GOT is ending. I plan to watch every match I can. Don't expect England to get very far although if we get out of the group we should make quarter finals. _________________

My husband was going to watch but he's been on the fence with Brazil being so under prepared for the event. I'm sure he'll end up watching the final matches, though. |

I'll be doing my national duty of watching England's matches...and then return to not caring about it once we're (inevitably) knocked out! _________________

I'll be watching as well.
I don't think that Germany has much of a chance this time though. Some of our best players are injured or still recovering from injuries. There are a lot of new guys on the team - they're not used to playing together in that set-up yet. And they're in the same group as Portugal and the USA - so that's a real challenge there!
I'll be cheering for the underdogs this year, especially Chile, Australia and the U.S. team. I don't think that the Socceroos have much of a chance of making it to the final 16 (sorry to say ) but Chile and the US have strong teams this time - so go, go, go, go!!!! _________________

It's fun to see the underdogs do well. There are usually some upsets in the matches. I have to say Clint Dempsey is one of my favourite Premier League players ever so hoping he does well for the US.
I think Germany will do fine. You probably know better than me though Karolina. _________________

I keep hearing that Belgium is the insider's candidate for the overall win. I'm surprised. I don't remember Belgium ever having a strong soccer team... do you, Paul? _________________

Yeah I don't think Belgium has even qualified for a tournament in a very long time. The team is very strong though with players that have become big stars in the last few years. They should do well but due to their lack of experience don't see them winning it. _________________

I made the same prediction, Paul. What an unfair game though. I was screaming at the telly
It's Spain vs. the Netherlands tonight, isn't it? _________________

That referee was awful. Croatia deserved to draw.
Spain vs. Netherlands at 8pm 9pm for you then? Kinda bored with Spain's style of play though as they often seem to play with no striker. Be interesting to see how they set up. _________________

Geez, what's up with the referees this year? Did you watch Mexico vs. Cameroon?
Looking forward to Spain vs. the Netherlands! _________________

Yeah the referee was so bad in the Mexico game. Least they won but it should have been 3-0.
OMG Netherlands just smashed Spain. Amazing _________________
