I think Terry and Josh are by far the best actors on the show

she's getting better though, and if you listen to the commentaries they really REALLY love her. I think by the end of Lost we'll all like her a lot more. But for now, I agree, Evie seems to be one of the "poorer" actors. Not that I'm one to judge or really recognize a good actor from a bad one

I like all the characters and actors but Evie is one of my favorites. Granted she is still learning but for this being her first speaking role she's damn good. With this kind of level fresh out of the gate she is going to have a hell of a career. JJ has never let us down before in his casting and I think he made a bold move with Evie.

I have to admit of all the backstories Kate's is my fvorite. I think they all have interesting backstories but hers are the ones that I look forward to the most. But Jack and Sawyer both run close seconds. She brings an innocence to her backstory that I think may be why JJ picked her because I'm still a firm believer that there is A LOT more to Kate then meets the eye but at her core she is a good person.

I've seen actresses that can't even compete with Evie win awards so I think it's safe JJ made the right choice. If I'd been in his shoes I would hae picked her too. Plus Evie has more then proven she could handle the part by the performances she has given.

That's my opinion but before you guys start bashing Evie just realize that even she admits in interviews that she is rough around the edges and it takes a hell of a person to admit that and a hell of an actress to be able to evaluate herself and know what to improve. Give Evie some time and she'll be a freakin' amazing actress.

Thats an interesting thought - that JJ picked her for her innocence. I can definitly see that. It actually works quite well in her flashbacks - but island Kate could use some work - you know being the hardened criminal and all. I just don't think she pulls it off.

Potential is well and good but solid acting skills are always better.

She's doing ok though and I hope she continues to improve.

well I'd rather have her than any other mainstream star anyway. Imagine Kirsten Dunst as Kate

Though then again, there's no way they'd get her anyway... lol.

I like it better sometimes when they chose nobodys. I mean, it's gonna get boring when every main guy role is played by Brad Pitt. And ever main girl role is played by (insert famous female because my brain is fried and I can't think of anyone right now)

I like the variety!

good nobodies = good.

They become the characters, makes it feel more real.

But then again, it can kinda ruin their careers in the future... fence them into a corner where they, for instance, can't get another job where they don't end up as "the hobbit" of the group

not pointing any fingers...
