Heya, Brooke (and Nikki)!

Way back when we had the first contest result in a tie, we discussed what was the "standard" procedure to do in that case and that was what we found. If you have a tie for first or second, you still award the same number of people, three, as if they hadn't tied. It's only if you get a tie for third that you end up with four people getting awards (because a tie for third doesn't bump anybody up a place so you still have to give an award to first and second as well as to both people who tied at third).
So that's been the format that we've followed ever since then. I know it looks like we're "missing" an award but it would've been the same number of people getting an award as if they hadn't tied. The tie just changes the number on the award, so that there are two first places or two second places instead of a first, a second and a third.
Hope that all makes sense! ♥! |

Oh! That makes total sense now and good to know in case I have that happen on a future YouTube contest of mine or something. Thanks! _________________

It does make sense, Aislynn. Thank you for clearing that up. |

I've never drifted to this particular bit of the site before because everything for me has normally run so smoothly but I recently submitted my new vid (Marley & Me) but now my Kuliet vid's pic has changed to the same vid pic I used for that vid, so now two of my vid pics are the same.
Am I the only one seeing this? I swear I'm not going mad lol. _________________

I noticed it too, Amy. That's happened a lot in the past and I think it happens when the vid pic you use for one vid has the same file name as a vid pic you used on another. Do you think that could be it?
I'm sure Ais knows more about this than me and how to fix it too, but that's why I think it's duplicating the vid pic =P |

Hm I dunno.
Ooh wait.... actually that could be it. I posted them from different computers but was lazy and gave them the same name 'vidpic' lol
Any idea on how to rectify this (silly) mistake? _________________

I think (emphasis on the think, lol) that you could rename the vid pic file and then upload it again for a mod so they can switch the old one for the new one. I don't know if there's an easier way but that's my idea |

Thanks Jemma. It's such a stupid mistake to make. I think I was sleepwalking when I submitted it _________________

Yep, that's exactly what happens. The site doesn't differentiate between files named the same thing for different vids in one vidder's profile. (So far, the site hasn't started assigning other people's vid pics to different vidders but anything is possible! )
The best thing I've found is to make sure you name each file the name of the vid, unless you have more than one vid named the same thing, then maybe name it the fandom and the vid title. That will keep this from happening (hopefully ).
I see that the Marley & Me pic has taken over a few others of yours, Amy. If you would, PM me or one of the other CMs the original vid pics for:
Cold Case [Kuliet]
Dancing Queen
Where Did I Go Wrong?
We can upload them again for you and send Marley back "home" now that he's done visiting your other vids, lol! ♥! |
