Lost Video Island

I was finishing up a video last night, and when i played it back in vegas it worked fine. I left it alone for a second and did something else, when i came back to it, it wouldn't save. It would only get so far then the preview box would go black. I cancelled the save, and looked at my clips, and over half of them had turned red. I know there isn't anything wrong with the clips because they worked fine right before that. I'm not sure if it's just Vegas, or what but I cannot render the video at all, I tried everything i can think of.
