I enjoyed this episode. But I kind of wish they'd focus more on what's happening on the island, instead of the Flash-Sideways because it was one of those episodes were the Flash-Sideways was more intriguing to me.
I was happy to see Mikhail! That was interesting. And it was interesting that Sayid's flash-sideways merged with Jin and Sun's.
And the fact that they were not marraied, and that was just so awesome how he was her bodyguard. I felt bad though becuase he was supposed to be killed and Jin was paying the guy to off him. Sad stuff.
It was nice to see Jack interacting with Sun.
OH MY GOD! HUME! I was wondering who it was. I wonder why the package is Hume though. |

Stronger episode than the last couple of weeks. (I adore Sawyer but did not like Recon, and much of Ab Aeterno felt like a time-waster for me.)
Yunjin Kim remains the show's strongest female actress in my opinion; it's a pity they don't give her more to do, since she's often relegated to the background. I still wish she'd gotten the role of Kate, for which she auditioned.

Obvious note, but we'll probably see more merging in the future. Good use of Mikhail too, I agree. When Alt-Sun opened her eyes after Island-Sun hit her head on the tree, was anyone thinking that they'd temporarily switched places, a la Daniel Faraday's jumping around?

Agreed here as well. It felt like they were putting Jack's medical skills to good use--since I know a bit about aphasia (and alexia, the opposite), I was wondering that when Sun lost her ability to speak English, and was glad they resolved it without contrivances.

I was semi-spoiled on that point, so didn't have the same OMG! moment, unfortunately. Glad to see they're giving Sayid something to do; the 'just sitting there' since Sundown was nagging at me.
This episode felt more like people (by which I mean the Losties) were asking questions and behaving reasonably intelligently, which compared to some episodes is a good thing indeed. I liked the callback to the Ludovico technique videos that they had Karl strapped into; that was actually one of my favorite 'bits' of the series (since I have seen and own A Clockwork Orange) . Since I want Lost to be freaky scifi and mysteries more than anything, any nod to that front is good news in my book. _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. I don't understand why Sayid couldn't help Jin get untied. And that smirk on his face 'good luck'. I kinda wanted to slap him.
I thought Sun's situation was interesting because it wasn't really caused by the island, though someone who has no idea what really happened to her, I thought it was in the beginning. My grandma had Aphasia. But I still don't know that much about it expect she sometimes used odd words to describe something she meant and would think she siad the right word.
I thought it was interesting that they brought back the device they had working on Karl. It's nice to see things we've seen come into play now.
I just have this weird feeling that with only 6 episodes left...I kind of will be disappointed with the season finale because I don't think they're handling the questions and answers all that well at this point. I really want them to prove me wrong. This just isn't my favorite season, and I have been yelled at because of it, someone called me stupid, told me to stop watching. |

Pure pragmatism, I think. If we're assuming he does not know Jin in the X-timeline: He's just killed Keamy, Omar, and a bunch of other redshirt goons who are trying to extort money from his brother. He doesn't know who else is there. He comes across this guy tied up in a freezer, asking him to help, but he doesn't know who he is or what threat he could be (and in Jin's case, he does have the capability to be a potential threat, too). It could be a trap, for all he knows. And he did give him the ability to get free, at least. It's not like he left him without means of escape.
I'm not saying he acted like you or I would have done, but from the perspective of an ex-Republican Guard soldier and ex-torturer, who's just engaged in combat, he did the smart, if not the friendly, thing. (I was hoping he would be the 'look behind you' shooter instead of Jin, though, I have to admit. Going off soldier instincts, too, I doubt he's just taken off from the restaurant.)
Re. aphasia: What you're describing is paraphasia, a symptom thereof. Related but not neurological are Spoonerisms (a la 'well-boiled icicle' instead of 'well-oiled bicycle.') _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

Again, I say this season is my favorite after S1, despite the fact that the answers they're giving us are raising more questions. I think I like it because it feels more like S1 than any of the others, and they're focusing on the Island instead of, like, Dharma and the love triangle.
I really enjoyed this episode! Not much to say at the moment other than, FLocke is totally manipulating everyone. A few episodes ago, he tells Kate basically that *she* should raise Aaron and Claire isn't fit to be a mother, and this episode he tells Claire that he needs Kate, for the moment, and after he's done with her, Claire can kill her? That's what *I* took it as, anyway. What a douche. To say the least.
Oh, and it was awesome to see that the "package" was Desmond! I've been wondering when we'd see him again. I wonder why he's so important that Widmore would smuggle him back to the island in secret? _________________

See that's why. I don't care about the island. I care about the characters. |

Totally called that "the package" was Des. Finally we see him again!
I love Sun. She's so awesome. I liked the little parallel between her not taking Flocke's hand, and then taking Jack's hand at the end. Somehow I feel this symbolizes her choosing Team Jacob. But hey, that's just me.
Found the flash-sideways a little odd, looking back. I hate Keamy very much, he's icky and evil. Didn't mind seeing Mikhail again though, oddly enough.
Ugh, I can't stand that annoying Zoe chick. She irks me.
I love how Jack always has to tell these inspirational stories of his medical heroics to cheer people up.
Still love Claire. Still think Emilie's doing a fantastic job.
....That is all I have to say for now. Must digest episode! _________________

I agree with Brooke. I haven't been impressed with most of this seasons episodes. This episode was fine but I'd have to put it in the same category as "What Kate Does" and "Recon" as kind of unnecessary. Hopefully this just means that the last few episodes are going to be jam packed with information, but I am getting a little tired of pointless episodes in the final season of such a great show.
I can't stand that Zoe chick either. She's almost uncomfortable to watch, she's so bad.
Thank god that Desmond is finally back. He's one of, if not the best character on the show, so it's great to see him back after basically disappearing for the last 2 seasons. I wonder if this is flash sideways Desmond or regular Desmond. It seems like Widmore isn't from the flash sideways time line though.
I thought Jack was very Jacob like talking to Sun. How he reached out his hand at the end and touched her reminded me a lot of Jacob. It's looking more and more like Jack is going to be the only one to stay on the island as the new Jacob and keep Locke/Smokie from leaving.
It looks like next week is gonna be a Desmond episode. I'm excited because his episodes are always some of the best in the whole series. _________________

I'm kinda thinking it'll be Hurley. Oddly enough, though, I wouldn't mind if it was Jack. He's not bugging me so much this season. Prolly cuz he's not around Kate.

Hmm... I care about the characters, too, so I'm trying to figure out what's so appealing about S6 to me... I think for one thing, it's SO much better than S5, imo, that it seems really good to me, lol. Another thing is that I think this season it's more of an ensemble cast. In the past season or two, I think it's focused a lot on just a few characters (*coughjackkatesawyercough*) and the rest of the characters were more props for their storylines... This season everyone has something to do. _________________

lol thats weird i thought it was the first weaker ep..but im not a jin/sun fan so it probably was partly that
i mean i still thought the ep was good, but basically i liked everything but the sun parts. sun just really annoyed me this ep on the island. it was funny when she ran into the tree tho
it was nice jin got to see ji yeon tho
all my fav moments involved guest stars basically lol, the keamy and mikhail moments. DESMOND BEING BACK and the jack/sun moment was nice
when sayid popped out the water and starred at des and des was like uhh wtf? i died laughing lmao
and i loved miles comment about hurley wouldnt find richard unless he was covered in bacon grease |

Really enjoyed this episode even the flash sideways. Seeing Mikhail was too awesome. I think the flash sideways are basically just fan service bringing old characters back and being able to see the losties in funny situations which is fine by me cause it is a lot of fun
Mikhail getting shot in the eye did anyone catch that? Cause he had a patch obviously in island timeline. Too cool.
DESMOND BACK. I literally punched the air. Really happy he is back and can't wait to see what is in store for him.
Flocke is getting more and more interesting. The line by Widmore that if he gets off everyone won't exist anymore intrigues me.. makes me believe that he possibly caused the parallel universe by leaving the island. It could also be a clever play on words though. If he did in fact cause the parallel universe it aint so bad although Sun losing her baby would suck big time.
Glad to see Claire was lying about saying sorry to Kate. I called it people
And hey I actually really liked Jack this episode and his talk with Sun. It's funny how he spoke about the lighthouse like it was important but he smashed it though lol
Have to agree with you DJC Zoey is pretty annoying. Don't like the actress. Don't like the character. She could easily be killed off in future eps though so it's no big deal.
Elyse I think it's gonna be Hurley too! _________________

yea im so happy des is back
and i thought the same about flockes comment, i think that the ppl he takes with him will be the ones he allows to merge conciousness with their AU selves, and the rest who get left behind/die will cease to exist as their original selves. something like that lol |

Season 5 was good UNTIL The Golden 6 got back on the island and it was just filler for the most part. I enjoyed seeing the island change in time and see all the characters, that was awesome.
But season 6 is better than 5.
My favorite season will always be 1. |
