You know what would be good would be to sort out which bands are tied to which companies so we know if it's safe to upload certain songs. Sony BMG seem fine with just putting an ad for the song on your video _________________

I got a sony music entertainment thingy on my new vid. I was worried so I disputed the claim anyway but all they did was put an ad on it, which is alright with me. But they still managed to figure out what song I had used, even with my intro. So I can only assume they "know" because I used the title of the song as the title of my vid. |

i can't remember who on here told me this, but apparently if your video file has the same name as a song that is banned then youtube will automatically flag your vid. So for the last 2 vids i uploaded, i didn't use the song title to name my file and they both went up fine and i didn't even use my intro. _________________ Morgan

That's stupid because some song titles such as "Mr. Jack" aren't very specific, I could have been using it for anything and it could've coincidentally been a song as well =P If you get what I mean.
ETA: Ohh wait, so if you name the video file, as in the rendered version, as the song title it only flags it? Not if you name the YT vid that once you upload it? |

Yeah, i used to always name the rendered video file as the name of the song i used, and they would always get flagged the second they went up on the site, and my last two i named with the date if finished them and so far no flags.
let me go and try to find that post, i know i saw it recently. I think it explains it a little better. h/o
EDIT: ok here's the thread

But then I tried just giving it a random name (the vid character/couple for example) on a vid which previously got disabled and it allowed it. I did that on the Sony Vegas file too, just in case.
Works for me, anyway |
