I don't have a back-up account yet. But I was trying to figure out my standing on Youtube and they're giving me 2 different answers.
Under Account Status: Community Guidelines, it says I'm in good standing.
Under Copyright strikes, it says I'm in good standing.
But under Content ID mtaches, it says I'm not in good standing.
So what does this mean as far as risk of losing my account? I'm still working eventually setting up a non-Youtube back up.

Jemma just got that notice as well. (She's talking about it here.)
I've been looking into Youtube's FAQ and Help sections as well as just doing some general poking around at Google and I can't find any hard and fast rules about what exactly that means. I know if you get 3 strikes, your account gets closed. But Content ID matches don't seem to correlate directly into strikes. And I can't find where they say if you definitely will lose your account over Content ID matches like you can with strikes.
So I'm afraid I can't find a good answer about that, sorry. Any time your account moves out of good standing, though, it goes into risk but I'm not sure exactly how likely it means that your account could be closed because of it. |

This site seems quite informative:
https://www.eff.org/issues/intellectual-property/guide-to-youtube-removals
It's mostly talking about videos being removed and says your video can get taken down because of Content ID Matches but I don't think it says anything about your account being removed.
It also warns you about disputing the claim on your video, because this can trigger the first human review of your video and could possible make things worse for yourself |

Oh, Jemma, thank you SO much for that! That has a ton of information!

That's been precisely why I've never disputed any of my videos: if they were picked up by the Content ID tool for the video or audio, it was an automated thing that caught them, not a person. But if you dispute it, they'll be reviewed by an actual person who then can back up and not only look at that video but look at ALL the videos I have in my account. You're not just putting that one vid in the spotlight, you're putting your whole account in their cross-hairs. To me, it hasn't been worth it to take the risk. |

Hey all, I thought in case I have any issues for my Lostisland account, I would make a new one. I just made it 2 days ago and so it's really bare except for one Supernatural video I made. So, if I submit a video here on that account, it's me too. I wanted to let you all know that so nobody thinks I'm trying to steal someone else's videos.
And, if some of you could subscribe to it, I would greatly appreciate it a lot. It looks bare and boring and I don't want people to go to it and see it looks dead, ya know? :lol;

I made another new one because I've noticed my lostisland account has been getting a lot of emails about the music I use, so in case I get in trouble with that one or my Gemini one, I have this brand new one... http://www.youtube.com/user/SamhradhStudio _________________ *~Summer~*
