Leyosura posted this over at her LJ, it's from DarkUFO's report about the bids LOST submitted for Emmy nomination consideration.
Quote: | Outstanding Drama Series

Yunjin Kim For "The Glass Ballerina"

Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series
Kevin Tighe For "The Brig"

Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series
Stephen Williams for "Greatest Hits" |
The Man from Tallahassee to represent the entire series? REALLY? That just. Wow. Okay. I'm gonna have to watch that ep again.
The most interesting thing to me that only Foxy and Evi are submitted as leads and the entire rest of the cast is submitted as supporting. Including Terry O. Because it has long been (and hotly) debated who were the "main characters" on LOST. To me, the answer has always been clear and has been supported here by these nominations.
Not that it means anything significant, because it is largely an ensemble cast.
Though undoubtedly they must be able to submit more than one person for outstanding lead (because weren't like ALL FOUR desperate housewives actresses nominated in that category one year?) |

I think they nominated TMFT because it was a fairly stand alone episode. Last year they nominated an episode that didn't really made sense if you weren't familiar with the series.

Yeah, there could've been worse choices instead of TMFT.
Just think if they had submitted the season finale. Zoinks! The judges and whatnot would be like......"ummm..........WTF?"
Kinda sucks about the main character thing. I think there's more than Kate and Jack. I think Sawyer would definitely be a main on his own, and Locke. Juliet and Ben seem to be sneaking up to Main character status.
I'm excited for the Emmy's. I really hope they do better this year than last year's When is the Emmy's? |

I'd agree with you if they bid for Foxy in Behind the Looking Glass. His work there was stellar. I mean, he was awesome throughout the season IMO and definitely the standout in the first 6 episodes of the season. But BTLD was definitely his best work all season.
Anything on CW (WB, UPN) is usually snubbed by the Emmy's anyway. Unfortunately. But I wouldn't say Foxy being subbed for lost means anything at this point in the game. When do noms even come OUT anyway? |

accually this year in support for shows like lost, producers have to write an essay talking about the episode and what everything means, i could find you a link if you want that would explain it better, but i think its a good idea! |

Eh, that's true. Sad...but true. I mean, in any case, Jensen and JDM are going up against some REALLY big names...it's really pretty obvious that they're going to be snubbed completely, but with all the Lost bids...forget it. I can't say I was pleased with any of this season, except, and I hate to say this because its the reason I'm completely giving up on Lost, Charlie's death was the only redeeming factor for me the entire third season. I hated it, but the way they did it was beautiful, poignant and he went out like a hero. Everything else in the season bored the hell out of me. Jensen was AWESOME in IMTOD, but he'd have done better if the bid was for WIAWSNB or AHBL Part 1. *shrug*
On another note, I hadn't ever noticed that Foxy and Evi are the only ones ever put up as leads until it was mentioned in this post how did I MISS that?! I fail.
DYING to see the actual noms...DOES anyone know when the noms come out? _________________ avatar: Plastic!Winchester Theater by anteka @ LJ; icon by me

I think end of August/beginning of September. There's a lot of new tv-stars attending that night, you know - making promotion for their new series that will air during the fall. I know Foxy did back in 2004, right before Lost premiered.
And I sure hope they will do better this year, though the competition is tough. _________________

Terry and Michael were nommed.
I have to say I'm really really stoked about Michael's nomination. I think he's just wonderful! |

Seconding this (Ben is one scary S.O.B., and Emerson pulls it off entirely through excellent acting, and without being physically intimidating at all, though I would have nominated him for either the flashbacks in The Brig or the present-day in The Man Behind the Curtain) and agreeing with Distress Signal that Terry being nominated is good too. Additionally, hopefully Naveen will get the Emmy that (I think) eluded him last year. _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

No Terry's great. I just happen to think that Michael Emerson is incredibly and exceptionally talented and he's played Ben to the absolute t. |

Yeah. I can't believe how good he was in TMBTC.
thefilmchick, Naveen's not even nominated this year. Terry and Michael are the only actors with nods. Bittersweet. Elizabeth totally deserved one just as much as they do. _________________
