It seems to be working!

Please don't be too worried about a little rollback in the posts, it's normal. I think I'll do another synch with the old forums to this one once it's time so we're fully updated, so don't worry too much about re-posting or whatever.

For those of you out of the loop, LVI has been having some major problems back in iPowerweb. It just wasn't working nicely for us - crashing here and there, low limits for database connections... etc. So now we've moved to a new hoster: Dreamhost. I hope they can handle us, but only time will tell. Either way, I am quite happy with the change. These guys seem a little more "us" than the previous big corporate iPowerweb lol. So fingers crossed that we get to stay here
(there is a 97 day money-back guarentee, effective as of 3 days ago, so if things don't work out, we can always switch somewhere new... but lets hope that doesn't need to happen.)


I'll open the main site up again very soon, then we can see just how well this thing can do . Meanwhile, let the site sit for a bit and make its change. Right now (as I post this) our url is "www.lostvideo.dreamhosters.com". This is temporary, it will be back to www.lostvideo.net soon, just gotta wait for the site to make its updates (which could take a few days).

Anyway, wish us luck! Go LVI for not completely dying!

I know you have been hard at work on this issue Warren and I just want to take a minute to offer you a HUGE thank you. I mean, we still have to see whether or not dreamhost can handle this jelly, but at least we're getting somewhere!

You do so much work for this site, and the fact of the matter is (and I know you know what I'm gonna say, cause I've already said it to you) this site would be in big trouble if you weren't here to hold it up. I.e., You rock! Go on wit'cha bad self! Or um, something less geeky.

Thanks all (especially KC, but whatever heh.) I hope it all works as hoped. The URL should be changing soon... apparently it's iPowerweb's responsibility though . So if this takes forever, at least you'll know who to blame! Right now I'm waiting for an email back from them.

In the meantime, enjoy these non-crashing forums!
Once we get the site URL back, I'll open up the main site . I have some high hopes here!

Yes indeed! That's exactly what I was waiting for! The site hosted on Dreamhost now owns the lostvideo.net domain, which means everything is going back to normal lol.

Now I gotta worry about the next steps - oi.

But hey, at least things are working! This was probably the worst of it. I hope to have the main site up within the week.
