Sorry, gene, but I'm not with you here. Sin City was terrible!!  I felt sick when I got out of the movie theatre. That movie is just disgusting (maybe the comics are better, but I kinda doubt it).
Still looking forward to 300 though.  |
Ouch, dagger to my heart  Well, at least this movie will have "reason" to be over the top and probably will lack some of the less "comedic/violent" moments.

This film was orgasmic. I really enjoyed it! The ending was amazing and I just loved all the super slowmo fight scenes. Thank god the queen gutted that prick. Rodrigo looked weird as Xerxes nose job? He reminded me of the Go'auld in Stargate with the deep voice and the god talk.

Ah man, that sucks: I still have to wait 3 more weeks 'til the movie will be released in Germany. 
And yeah, I was a bit like  , too, when I saw the promo pics of rodrigo as Xerxes. He looks really, really creepy in this movie.

INCOMPREHENSIBLY AMAZING!!!!!!!!!
If you want to imagine how awesome it is, watch the trailer, and then imagine it lasted 2 hours, but was even more awesome. It's awesome.
I've found a dvd quality download on demonoid and i'm gonna start making vids out of it. Anyone got any ideas for songs for it? Preferably at the heavy metal side of things....

I just saw... a 300 vid! Alright, so that's not as good as seeing the movie but hey, it's close, right?
Just from what I've seen of it so far, I think it's going to be a lot like Sin City for me... I don't like gore by any means (that was my least favorite aspect of SC) but I love that stylized (and yes, Warren ) EPIC look to 300. And I like knowing ahead of time not to be holding out hope for a "happy" ending (I hate when a movie suckers me into desperately hoping things will work out, then smacks me with a bummer ending  ). I'd rather know ahead of time what to expect, then I don't have my expectations dashed at the end!
Okay, so who wants to go with me to see it at the movies? |

Sorry bout the late reply. With all the new LVI 5.0 stuff going on here I lost track of the threads I was posting in. 
Anyway, the most important thing first: David Wenham was yuuuuuuuummyyyyyyyy! Man, he looked so good! (Almost better than in LotR ). Ok, Gerard Butler wasn't too bad, either, but I just totally wuv David Wenham, you know.
The movie was really good! Not too much of a story (that's why I admittedly got a bit bored after a while... they're really only fighting all the time), but everything looked so cool! The fighting scenes were great, almost like in a computer game, and there were a lot of hot, half-naked guys... what else do you need, huh?
Thumbs up, I'd say.
