First three votes of yes or no means it gets one or it doesn't. The main thing we look for in quality vids is originality. Usually that has to be coupled with good editing and story. Council Members get awarded CP's automatically not because we think we are so good that it doesn't matter lol it's just a perk of the job, a reward for the work we do.

Not to mention it's also really uncomfortable to vote on each other's vids... and we choose each other to be in the council for having good vids, and after seeing a few hundred vids, you kinda get the feeling of what makes a good vid good

Well, there are two things that get a video a Golden Council Pick Seal: A well made, well edited video, with a well-focussed theme, beats, and one that keeps the viewer's attention throughtout; and an original, different idea. The premise of a Council Pick is that it's an award signifying a one of a kind video that anyone would like. It means the video can stand alone in front of any vidder and be seen as great, not just because it has a nice song or was merely well edited, but followed a basic, boring "stencil". For this reason, many of the standard shipper vids, that we get constantly, are often well-made, but have absolutely nothing new to bring to the table, and so they do not get a CP. It's a shame, and we're not all that happy with that fact, but with so many videos coming in, it's tough to change that. However, we are taking measures towards this, and in the next little while you should see a big change that will make LVI much more accessible to those vidders who can't quite make it to the top, but are still awesome vidders.
