Out of curiosity, what do you guys think of the prizes? Enough motivation to vid for the contest? If you're aiming for a prize which one are you aiming for? I'm just asking because thanks to Rygwood we have more things to offer up in the future and we just want to hear from you guys on what you think so we can decide how to best use what we have left. _________________

The prizes are awesome, and very much an incentive for participating.
But I'm not real sure I understand the contest--can somebody clarify it for me? _________________

For the Thaksgiving contest you need to make a video that uses just the nicest most heart warming moments so far (in other words no blood guts or gore...lol). Then turn them into some kind of story centering around a Thanksgiving like event on the island. Try and use a lot of the characters instead of just a few because Thanksgiving revolves around people coming together to celebrate each other company and food.
I hope that clarifies it some. If it doesn't let me know and I'll try again...lol. _________________

Very helpful, actually! And I actually have an idea now. As soon as the vid I'm currently working on (almost done with, it's rendering now) is done, uploaded, and submitted, I'll get right on the contest... _________________

I wasn't sure about this, so I thought I should check. Can your re-submit a vid that is already up on the site for the contest? |

We just recently had this come up and don't really have a solid rule for it yet. But we do prefer that all contest entries are fresh new videos made specifically for the contest. That keeps it fair for everyone else entering the contest. _________________

However, we won't hold it against you if you do wish to send in an old entry. |

But also be aware that entries are judged on their 'fit to contest' and already made vids tend to score low on that. _________________

So, I got all tired of fiddling around with my contest entry, decided it was the best I could possibly do, and submitted it.

I have a somewhat odd question. I'm not even sure if I'm gonna do this, but is it ok to use clips from the outtakes on the DVD in a contest vid? _________________ Heather |
