Ooo, verrrra nice! I loved that texture (gradient?), it was subtle but added some very cool visual interest and motion to the vid. I also like your use of additive dissolves (I'm guessing it was additive dissolves) for the beat use (vs actual white flashes that would've probably been too overpowering). The lyric use was great, I particularly like how you used Sayid and Claire!

Hee. Thanks, Ais!
Texture: Media generator, Fractal-Turbulent. Two keyframes, one with 0 progress (at the beginning), one with 100 progress (at the end.) Stretched to cover each section and restarted at each section. Set to dodge, at approximately 50%.
Flashes: Not additive dissolve. More media generator, since it was added at the end. White, 5 frames apiece, on each snare beat. Also set to dodge, at 45%.
Good to know the texture worked too--I was hoping it added interest but didn't overpower. And glad you enjoyed it overall! _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

Cool video, Kate! The song worked great for Locke! The beat use was very well done, and I like those shots at the beginning, where it showed the Others houses, what epy is that from? That matched the music well! _________________ Heather

WOOOOOO!!! I love this video so much, Kate! You did such a great job with it. I love that you found the relevance in an older song and edited it in a way that made it interesting and fun to watch. This is definitely my favorite video of yours yet. Awesome job!!!

Thanks, Heather and Julia!
Heather: Everything at the beginning that's cut between (the POV shots and shots of Flocke) is from the start of 'The Substitute,' before he cuts Richard down from the net: The clip goes through the woods and New Otherton (lingering on Sawyer's house where he's playing music) before circling back to cut Richard down. It's on Millie's Richard site, under the heading 'Time to talk.' (Positive it's in the clips link as well.)
Julia: Thanks! And thanks for beta-ing. And as far as older songs, this is actually younger than most of my songs (which are from the late '70s): It's from the mid-'80s, Fogerty's solo album after he left Creedence Clearwater Revival. (It's called 'Centerfield,' and, yes, that baseball song comes from the same album.)
Glad both of you enjoyed it! _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

I really liked the animated texture you used. It was like the smoke monster moving across the screen. Maybe a touch of black would have made that more obvious though. The lyric use at the beginning was really great too. The song was great for Flocke well done _________________

Glad you enjoyed it, Paul--and congratulations for getting the point of the texture! (I tried it with a bit more black, and it made a lot of the scenes--especially the dark ones--impossible to see.) The song was dead-obvious for Flocke, anyway, hence... _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

Like I've said, this is your best yet, Kate. The water texture was perfect: not too much or little, but just enough to compliment the vid. The steady beat use was perfect too; it kept me interested in watching. The idea you had for switching from Locke/Flocke to the smoke monster in motion was great; it really helped to make the connection of the two being one. Fantastic job

Back! With iced tea and coconut M&Ms (still prefer a Mounds bar, per spam thread). Thanks, Serena--glad you got a kick out of this one too! (For at least one utterly hilarious reason, too! Ahem.)
I'm also happy that you stayed interested in watching--I'm always concerned when I start with a bang that things might taper off; it's good to know that this one apparently didn't taper too much! _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

Wow, I loved this, this was really, really awesome in every single way. I love the song choice, my dad actually walked by and heard me watching it and he said he loved this song and started singing along with it! It was a perfect song for Flocke, and you used the lyrics perfectly as well! Awesome beat use and editing, I got the chills, because Flocke just has that affect on me Brilliant video! _________________ Jin is lost in Sunlation forever..

Julia: So apparently you like the video? I can't tell.
foxy9: Thanks! Glad someone else likes Fogerty/CCR. Surprised someone hasn't done Run through the Jungle yet, speaking of fitting songs, especially for (a negative view of) Flocke. If you want it, take it. Lyrics:
Spoiler:
Run Through the Jungle (Creedence Clearwater Revival, 1970)
Whoa, thought it was a nightmare,
Lo, it's all so true,
They told me, "Don't go walkin' slow
'Cause Devil's on the loose."
CHORUS:
Better run through the jungle,
Better run through the jungle,
Better run through the jungle,
Whoa, Don't look back to see.
Thought I heard a rumblin'
Callin' to my name,
Two hundred million guns are loaded
Satan cries, "Take aim!"
CHORUS
Over on the mountain
Thunder magic spoke,
"Let the people know my wisdom,
Fill the land with smoke."
Kate: I bring dad rock to LVI. Does your dad also like Wilco and Springsteen? Those are on deck, so to speak. Ask him if he likes them. I'll bet he'll at least like Springsteen! I'd like his perspective on 'Blinded by the Light,' when it pops up.
Jemma: Glad you liked it! _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.
