ahh, ivan milat :S everyone over here knows him; he's a complete psycho. cut off his own finger in prison in january and tried to mail it to the high court of australia :S but his thing was shooting/stabbing them all and leaving them in the bush; only one person ever got away from him, a guy. apparenlty milat's name appears in the movie somewhere ? the actual Wolf Creek story isn't really like this, its about that murdoch guy, who kidnapped two english backpackers and killed the guy; the girl got away. it was in Wolfe Creek National Park; which is in the northern territory; but that crater called Wolfe Creek is in western Australia :S

to answer your question nikki; its in Western australia. well the real Wolf Creek is, but the movie is set in the northern territory I think. Either way; im in Queensland, completely different state. probably the same difference as New Mexico and Montana for you, granted i have no knowledge of US states our weather is the best in australia never too hot; never too cold, never snows, altho we get a buttload of rain and have just had some of the worst floods in 40 years, to keep us way off topic

but i hate that saying Based On True events, cos it can really mean anything. The Strangers; that one with Scott Foley and Liv Tyler, is based on true events, those being the director remembered as a child a person coming to his door and asking for someone who didn't live there. but the murders weren't true :S i guess its just to freak us out more

I downloaded a reeally cute movie a coupla days ago. I think it's a Lifetime movie, so I wasn't really expecting much, but it was more like a dark little indie movie, than anything made for TV. It has Blake Lively from Gossip Girl in, which made me think it was gonna be really cutesy and chick-flicky, but it was actually really awesome. Had a kinda dark feel and it was a really original story. I would recommend it.
EDIT:lol - I just realised I never actually mentioned the name of the film! Je sui en retard! It was called Elvis and Anabelle, if anyone was interested.

My Bloody Valentine. Not that scary. My mom freaked out for some reason when she found out I watched it. But the ending was freaking good. Totally didn't see it coming, then it all fell into place and I was like, "OHHHHH!!!" I love when movies do that.

Aw, Emma, I really want to see that! I'm glad you liked it and recommend it, I will definitely see it!

I just saw "Orphan" wow, it was so freaky, scary, and just sooo good! I really liked it, thought it was distrubing at parts, but that's a horror movie for ya If anyone likes horror movies, I'd recommend this one!

ooh; awesome Kate! it comes out here next week and im psyched to see it

Saw Passengers on DVD today; its got Anne Hathaway in it and i LOVE her; but she was better than the whole movie to me. its not really any good. You've figured out the plot on your own about halfway through, and then they explain it to you about 3/4 of the way through and you're still stuck watching it. Like they over-explain the ending; they really wanna make sure you get it. They could have ended it about twenty minutes before it ended IMO :S Not really worth the $2 it was to rent

I always thought it looked like it was very similar to "The Unborn" and it's story. I love gorros movies so I'll check it out!

Just saw My Sister's Keeper. BEAUTIFUL movie! definitely don't go if you want a happy flick; its pretty much heartbreaking from the start but it's a gorgeous movie with fabulous performances from the whole cast.

Went to see "Orphan" last night......and it was a complete waste of money. I was so bored at parts I was tempted to get the ipod out instead of watching it. Just hated it. Some parts of the film seemed pointless and they dragged on. and on.and on.

one review of it said this:
Quote:

As the poster says, 'There's something wrong with Esther.' There certainly is -- she's trapped in this terminally dull and dimwitted movie.

and that about sums it up.
