Contest: “A Whole New World”
Deadline: September 5th

The Details

Ever seen your favourite lost characters and thought they were similar to those featured in disney films, well here's your chance to show us. This month we're cutting out the main ships (including dead major ships) and we want you to show any of the following: minor/dead or AU ships as if they were in the disney film themself! We want you to portray lost characters as disney characters through your song. So maybe choosing one character as Simba and one as Nala to 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight' or perhaps you would like to see one character as Buzz and one as Woody to 'You've Got A Friend In Me'. Which character(s) will you choose to be on their way to a happily ever after video...

The Rules

Specific Contest Rules:

* - Choose a Disney song (from an animated or partly animated Disney movie only, please.

Be sure to ask if you're not sure if your song comes from a movie that qualifies

) and create a video based on that song's story, video must also portray lost charactaers as the disney characters of that chosen song. No instrumentals allowed as they don't include a character to be played by a lost character. Also, we'd like you to use the original version of the song; no remixes, please.
* - We will be using a song claiming system, so you must claim your song here in advance. One vidder to a song but if the song you want has been chosen, you can ask permission from the other vidder to use it.
* - Major ships, even dead ships (as defined here) are NOT allowed. If you choose to use a pairing, it must be a minor or AU ship. Non-shippy vids are also welcome.
* -The more creative, the better. Don't be afraid to take risks.
* -Running time should be no longer than 5 minutes. We suggest the 3 - 5 minute range.
* -When entering your video on the Submit page, you MUST enter "August 2008 contest submission" exactly in your vid's Description.

General Contest Rules:

* -Contest submissions should be entered through the Submit page
* -All regular submissions Rules apply.
* -Only one entry per vidder
* -Videos already submitted and RELEVANT can be submitted again, but we would rather see something fresh. (Please contact a CM if you wish to enter a previously-submitted video)
* -Please do not use Megaupload, Rapidshare or Yousendit to host your files.
* -Keep in mind that however you choose to host your video, it must be available for download at least until the end of the month. If we can not access your video at the time of judgment it will not be considered.
* -Have fun!

Yay!!! A new Disney contest! I've been looking forward to another Disney contest for so long!!

If I get some time, I will try my best to take part. I'm not sure about the song yet, but can I claim "Won't say I'm in love" from Hercules for now?

Can I claim "Go The Distance" from Hercules?

I have a few questions as well. No major ships, but we can use major characters still, right? And you can't have any major ships, but say, if I do a vid about Jack, can I allude to Jate? It's not a Jate vid, but has little clips of it or something because it's a part of Jack's character/life?

I love "Ooh-De-Lally" from Robin Hood! xD That's gonna work so well!
