There's one song where the chorus goes like: "I've got life"... For about 2 years I thought it was "I've got lice"

I was listening to "Uptown Girl" and my brother was in the room and he misheard one of the lines as "She's got her toys."

Really it's "She's got a choice."

I laughed at him.

Okay - there's only one I can think of right now.

I love Dashboard Confessional's song "Hands Down"

These are the actual lyrics:

My heart is yours to fill or burst/To break or bury/Or wear as jewelry

This is what I heard:

My heart is yours to fill or burst/To break a berry/Or wear as jewelry

For the longest time, it made no sense to me at all. Until I actually perked my ears up and heard "break or bury" which makes more sense, hehe

lol Abby! I do stuff like that all the time. Instead of looking up the lyrics, and I just sit there and think, "Well, that doesn't make much sense".

Teehee, in the song Sugar We're Goin Down, I always heard:

Tell mommy
I'm watching you two from the closet

When really it's

Don't mind me I'm watching you two from the closet.

xD That's what it sounds like, tho!!

Hehe, I know it's bad, but sometimes I don't even bother to learn lyrics. I'll just sing what I know and babble the parts I don't.

For example, when I sing Sugar, We're Going Down Swinging, it sounds like this:

We're doing down town, blah blah bloo ble blah da, and sugar, we're going down swinging....

Yeah, I'm a lazy nerd.

In Meatloaf's 'It's All Coming Back to Me Now'

the song says: There were nights of endless pleasure, It was more than any laws allow
I heard: There were nights of endless pleasure, It was more than all your lousy love

I always thought, "This is song is so great except for that one lyric that just doesn't fit."

LOL That's funny, Steph and Abby. This thread reminds me of that episode of Friends.

Rachel: No Way! The most romantic song ever was 'The Way We Were'.
Phoebe: Uh, see, I... I think the one that Elton John wrote for, um, that guy on Who's The Boss.
Rachel: What song was that, Pheebs?
Phoebe (singing): Hold me close, young Tony Danza.

Oh, I have a new one. For some reason, whenever I listen to "That Don't Impress Me Much" by Shania Twain, I hear -

You're makin' love, original know-it-all It really says - You're a regular original, a know-it-all

I was like, "Wth does that mean?" the first time I heard it. lol

I have a new one! hehe I was listening to "I Don't Wanna Be In Love" by Good Charlotte, and the first time he said -

"She was trippin' on the phone now" I thought he said -"She was strippin' on the phone now"

I was like, what the heck?? That makes no sense. xD And my sister was singing this song one day and I could have sworn you was singing, "I don't wanna be a monk". LOL She says she wasn't, but it sounded like that to me. hehe So now we always sing it like that as joke.

LOL Sassy! xD

This is one I always misheard, when I first heard it I was like WTF O_o

You are the one by Shiny Toy Guns the lyrics are "Kissing over and over again, his God knows he's faithful."

And I swear it sounds just like "Kissing over and over again, he's got nose hair it's painful."

LOL Jemma!! That's hilarious! I have to listen to that one. xD That's so awesome.

I've got a new one for "I Don't Wanna Be In Love". Thank my sister for this one, yet again : "She's trippin' on the phone cord" of course, this is instead of, "She's trippin' on the phone now"

EDIT: Omg, Jemma, that song is FULL of misheard lyrics. It's so great! And it does sound like the nosehairs thing. Check out this vid, it's full of misheard lyrics for the whole song - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEQ2_-CYOI4
