|
|
A bill was introduced to congress to Impeach Bush from office today (and by today, I mean the 8th).
Here's the ONLY article I can find on the net about it:
http://www.macon.com/mld/macon/news/politics/16198546.htm
It's posted in multiple places, but it's exactly the same article. Says the bill has no chance of passing, but it also mentions that it sites Iraq and THE TOTALLY ILLEGAL WIRETAPPINGS! that George Bush ordered without a warrent that NOBODY FRICKIN' CARES ABOUT (and even less than that know about). |

Someone said that the last day of session was after this bill was introduced and so therefore the bill is now void? I wonder why none of the (subsequent) articles I found on the subject failed to mention this.
*shakes head*
Whatever. |

Wow. I hadn't heard about this...even if it was submitted after the last day of session, surely it's still a massive thing that people think he should be impeached? Suprised theres not more bout it... _________________ Steph xxxxx |

Well, I don't like bringing up politics on a public forum with nothing to do with them, but I have to say that I really do hope Americans make the right choice and get their democracy back... Because as long as Bush and the republicans are in power, dominating the senate, congress, lawhouse, and presidencial seat, there is none. There's an oligarchy, one that allows them to pull off things like destroying habeus corpus, allowing them to arrest anyone they want without trial or reason . This isn't about terrorism, this isn't about Bush being a moron, this isn't about you liking gay marriage or stem cell reseach or not, this isn't even about the war on Iraq This is about keeping the most powerful nation in the world from falling even further into the wrong hands... It's an upward struggle, against a right-wing media, a corrupted voting system, billions of dollars from powerhouse corporations, and a vast majority of Bush-backing republican representatives, but if it doesn't happen soon, there won't be another chance.
It was a surprising and heartening twist that a democratic majority was elected for the House, but it's still not over yet . I hope people pay attention to what's happening here, because if they don't, they could lose a lot more than a chance to end the war. They could lose one of the remaining chances at saving America's freedom.
And why do I care? I'm just a Canadian? Well, unfortunately whatever happens down there, my country will be leaping after it with bells on . We're already being trimmed to be the 52nd state (51st being Iraq ) by our Bush-backing leaders. This is all of North America's battle here .
As far as the empeachment goes, I actually didn't hear about that, but since it's void then yeah, whatever. It would never pass now anyways, not until January at the least. Besides, it wouldn't help any to take Bush out now if he's just going to be replaced by Cheney or whoever. At least Bush isn't very competant, so there's the advantage of some people actually noticing the underhanded things he's been doing. I fear what would happen if someone more clever was the one behind all this...
Anyway, now isn't really the time to do this... best to remind people of the severity of the situation once it's actually time to do something... especially when running the risk of losing respect from people for the whole thing by complaining too much or whatever But it is important . I hope that's realized before it comes to it... |

Ugh I just feel like that's TOO long to have to wait. I'm completely in awe of the fact that we (and by we, i mean people who voted, and by people who voted, I do NOT mean myself, because I live in a Republican state, so my vote wouldn't count for s*** anyway, since I'd have voted Democrat), for whatever reason, decided it was a good idea to put someone who has the least intelligent vocabulary I've ever heard, along with the shortest attention span for questions and the best bulls****ing skills when it comes to answering them...in charge of our country. Way to go
Please, God, let it be 2009 already!
I could handle his stupidity and arrogance if it wasn't costing innocent lives (and by that I'm not ONLY referring to our soldiers).
*sigh* God Bless America...or something.
PS to Warren...if you guys ever actually become the 52nd state, I will officially cry for you. _________________ avatar: Plastic!Winchester Theater by anteka @ LJ; icon by me

Agree with you there, Mistojen. 2009 could not come any friggin slower. Yep, at the time of elections, I still lived in my hometown...in a Republican state, but I voted Democrat because I was already becoming tired of Bush's perverbial crap. I think Kerry actually won the state, I think, but I can't remember, but yeah...it didn't much matter.
What I can't stand are people who don't want the war in Iraq, but voted for Bush. People want to push blame on others when they in fact, voted for them, and while I'm sure Bush had a decent reason for going (other than trying to finish daddy's business), it is no longer acceptable for the war to continue...
Whoa...I've said too much. Don't want to keep going for fear of a heated debate. >.< |

The question is how much can he screw things up in the time he has left? Almost two friggin' years.... there can be room for a LOT of sh**... including this war. _________________

Apparently since he's requested more troops for the war in Iraq, he doesn't want to give up and resign. He kind of reminds me of the controlling father type that knows his kid(s) will move away soon in their late teen years so he decides to be even more strict and brutal to them than usual, just because there won't be any more to do after that. _________________

I dont do the whole political discussion thing. I like my forums how I like my dinner parties- no religion and no politics. It just upsets people. _________________

He cheated apparently. Well, from what I saw in Farenheight 9/11 (BRILLIANT FILM) he didn't give african americans the vote. Or something like that. He pretty much cheated. A*ehole. _________________

And the fact that he did that probably accounts for a very significant number of votes (knowing how multi-cultural America is), and Al Gore would most probably have beaten the stupid idiot right out of the park. _________________
