My family got a new kitty today. She's actually a young adult, so we got her spayed immediately after we got her from the shelter. We just brought her home for the first time from the vet this morning, and she is the most beautiful cat we've ever had. Really hazel/green eyes and soft, long dark grey, white and tan fur, some tan swirls circling on her sides. We decided to name her Anastasia, Ana for short.
And some of the funniest/cutest things happened today with her. She likes to sit right up behind the glass door looking out at our back porch, where squirrels, blue jays, deer and some cats meander about at one point or another. And at lunch she was sitting there when a squirrel came up to the front porch near the door as usual because we feed them peanuts. Ana starts twitching and laying low, revving up as if she's about to catapult herself into the glass door. For a few minutes we watch her and the squirrel, as he twitches like a squirrel eating peanuts on the porch. Then at one point the squirrel comes even closer and closer, interested in Ana, until he is right up to the glass in front of her on the other side, and BANG! Ana gets a nose punch into the glass. We laughed so hard.
Then later, this was about 10 minutes ago, she's sitting in the same spot, and through the kitchen window I spot the huge black furry neighbor cat far out in the backyard. It said on her paper at the shelter that she doesn't like other cats. So I was waiting to see what this situation might ensue. The neighbor cat comes over to the front porch and I see Ana start to hiss. And then when the neighbor cat is getting closer to the glass she's not hissing anymore, but growling like a bellowing possessed grown cat. She like turned from Anastasia to Ana-Lucia. So my mom hurried over and kind of kicked at the glass to make the cat go away, and we closed the blinds. But she is so loving when it comes to people.
I'll try and post some pictures of her later. She is so gorgeous. _________________

Thats so cool. Love kittens. And cats. And dogs. Any pretty much any animal that doesn't have eight legs. I have a phobia lol. _________________

Aw, cats are sooo cute! Unfortunately I have a really severe allergy to cats so could never have one of my own (this also kept me from having any pets when I was little. I was finally able to have a poodle when I was older since they're about as "non-allergenic" of a dog as you could get. I loved that little guy so much! He died several years ago now and I miss him so much! ).
Anyway, back on point, congrats on the new kitty! Looking forward to the pics! |
