Okay, I admit it. I'm not the best graphic maker out there, but I thought I'd just give a little example of my own work.
I have a rather large collection of banners, both Lost related and non-Lost related, and have been working with these things since October 2004. A lot of them have been requests, while others have just come out of my own little creative mind. So basically I just decided to show a few of my more recent creations. Hope you like them.

Yeah, the last one is awesome. But I really like the Rose/Bernard and the "things aren't always..." ones, too. Nice work, Stardael!

Thanks guys! I really appreciate it.

I'm pretty surprised that you all love the last one though, since it was a banner that I really struggled with, and wasn't very satisfied with either. Really, the blend itself without the colorization, effects and brushes just looked odd.

But I'm still glad you like it.

Wow, they're all really beautiful, IMO!

I'm particularly fond of the Sawyer "I'm not a good person" one, of course. And *squee* LotR!

By the way, if anyone needs a banner, I'll be willing to give it a try. Smaller too if those up there are too big for you.

I just remembered having this old thread up, and decided to give it a small update. And yes, it is small, considering I don't make nearly as much artwork as I'd like to, but sometimes I manage to throw something together.

So here, a few even more recent creations.
