Lost Video Island

i was watching my lost season 2 dvd's last night and something just hit me. I never really had a theory on what is really going on on the island, and now that i think about it, alot of "my theory" doesn't make since, but what if the reason the losties see things in the jungle (the horse -kate-, the shoe -hurley-, the coffin -jack-) is because the others put this stuff out there for them to see. The description of the first episode says that Jack, Kate, and Sawyer are put in places that remind them of their past lives, so the others obviously know what they have been through, so what if all the stuff they were seeing was just leading them to ultimately being captured by the others, which would lead them to some bigger explanation of what their past truely means.

Yes, this may sound a lil dumb, but i dunno. It could make sense. If anyone has any thoughts on my theory please let me know.

I think you are on to something but for the examples you gave only one may fit the description.

I really doubt the Other's fabricated the shoe, seeing that no one else saw Dave or the shoe. Remember Hurley had the imaginary friend Dave outside of the island and he was "fake" there too.

Jack~ I doubt they planted the coffin though that still bugs me that it was empty All of that stuff near the coffin fell from the plane. Remember Charlie's guitar? Same area as the coffin.

As for Kate, that is where I can't argue with your theory...yet.

I guess you could also rebuttle my "evidence" as well. I don't know though.
