Does anyone know if you can download a vid that's been uploaded on YouTube? That's where I always upload my vids, and like ten minutes ago (RIGHT after I finished WATCHING my vid), my computer spontaneously deleted the file. It isnt' in the recycling bin and I didn't delete it myself. No authorization or "are you sure" thing came up, and I did a full hard drive search (including hidden folders, etc) and it came up with nil. I need this vid, because it's not finished and without the vid, I can't have the clips TO finish it, because I've lost them all in a horrible My-Computer-Hates-Lost incident a month or so ago. If I can't download off of YouTube...then my ONLY hope is that my little brother didn't delete it when I sent it to him via AIM to beta for me. Anyone know if you can download from youtube?

You can, but only into a flash version which I think is near-impossible-if-not-impossible to change into a format that can be opened and edited in any editing program Sorry

Oh man...my computer really doesn't want me to be doing Lost vids and it's being a real sh*t about it, too.

Thanks for the answer...I guess I'll just have to cross my fingers extra hard that my little brother didn't delete the file after he watched it for me... because I'm not entirely sure I've got the patience to find all those clips again, and THEN put them together again when I was only thirty seconds away from being finished--only 15 of which were in need of clips from Lost (I usually save the ending for the title, my name, and a disclaimer of some sort, or credit)

Good luck let me know how it goes

Yeah, my Compaq may be abnormally-slow, but it hasn't screwed with me ever

Well, update:

Hurrah! My little brother hasn't deleted my vid yet--and actually, he sent it to a friend, too, who has it still, SO...one way or another, I will get this vid and I will be BACK in business. Thank God for small favors, no?

I've had that happen to me before, too, except fortunately it was a clip that I had just downloaded. I watched it once to make sure it was the clip I wanted, then came back later with the intention of labeling it so I would easily know what it was. Looked in the sub-folder it should have been in: nothing. Searched all the folders in that set: nothing. Searched the entire hard drive: nada, zip, zilch.

I just had to download it again and it was fine but I've never figured out where the first one went!

So glad that your bro has your vid! Yay! A sorta happy ending at least!
