Or a cry to arms! Or...uh...something!

Anyway.

I signed up to write an essay about the Claire/Sun/Shannon friendship on Lost, and I want to make sure it's as complete as I can make it, so I'm asking for help.

What are your favorite Claire moments? Sun moments? Shannon moments? What moments can you remember that show Claire and Sun's friendship, or Claire and Shannon's, or Shannon and Sun's, or (optimally) all three of them together?

Do you have any insights into their relationship? What appeals to you about it (if anything at all)?

Any links to fanfiction, vids, etc., that showcase their friendship?

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!

As far as I see it, there isn't/wasn't much, if any, friendship between them. They've all kinda been tied together through others (mostly Kate, as far as Claire and Sun go). In fact, Claire and Shannon were kinda closer to enemies to each other, what with that scene in 115 (Homecoming), when Claire can't remember anything, and people are lookign at her funny because they know Ethan is after her. So she goes up to Shannon and asks why she's staring, in a very animosity-filled way, at which point Shannon tells her in an unkind way that Ethan is after her, which ends up with Claire pissed at Charlie

Though Claire and Shannon didn't realyl start out great either, with that whole sunbathing thing in Pilot Part 2 where Shannon is basking in the sun, and Claire tells her about her baby. You could interpret that as a friendship, but I wouldn't really, since Shannon was very uninterested and putting-off.

Claire and Sun have somewhat of a friendship, but it's weak, at best, since Sun is more of a nany to Aaron than a friend of Claire's.

Sun and Shannon.... did they have any relationship at all? I don't think so, but I can't remember.

I'm pretty much agreeing with almost all of what Hobbes said. I never really saw a friendship through the female characters.

Um, I did write a possible Claire/Shannon fic that might've happened post "Exodus," but it purely made up. I'll post the link ... maybe it'll help.

Oooh, this is interesting. Well, I think the friendship between those three was certainly meant to be there - it was just one of those few aspects of the show where we are just expected to assume that the three got along offscreen, I suppose. Like MovieGuy said, it's pretty implied in 2x04 and 2x05 that they spent time together and confided in one another [e.g Shannon and Claire making the descision to tell Sun about the bottle, Claire and Sun doing laundry together].

And of course, there was the major scene between the three in Exodus Part II where they discuss fate. Sun was also one of the first to tell Shannon that Boone died bravely, and to reassure Claire that Sayid and Charlie would get Aaron back. Sun was a pretty motherly figure to them both, [well, now, just Claire

] but while Shannon was still alive, I think Sun did a great job at making sure Claire and Shannon were okay, and did everything she could to help them.

nice! When put that way, they really do seem to have more of a relationship than meets the eye. I wonder what other little semi-hidden friendships are on here that I don't really notice
