Sorry if this has been asked before but I'm working on my first vid and was going throught the guides, text and vid ones alike, and saw a guide for whitefading with widescreen. While it provided what I assume one might need for this it didn't explain what it is or how it's used...

I'm very interested as my vid so far has a few widescreen clips and was hoping this might some how fix it and/or improve the look of the vid.

Oh, also I'm running Sony Vegas 6 if that helps at all.

I believe the difference between regular white fades and "widescreen white fades" is the following:

regular: the clips don't stretch across the whole screen, yet when you tell the clip to fade to white, it will make the ENTIRE screen white, not just the part that is your video (so it interferes with those black bars at the top)
Widescreen: by fading to an image of a white screen instead fo the standard white fade effect, on ly the area between the black bars fades to white, giving you a cleaner effect that presumably looks better
