WMM2: New effects not working :(

I have a problem with WMM2:
I wanted to add some new effects and I did it just the way Aislynn described it in her WMM guide (in the folder C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX and saved as *.xml files).

But when I open WMM, it just doesn't show the new effects.
What could be the problem?

Some of the XML effects actually don't show up in the Video effects part, for some weird reason. I have a widescreen effect that you get out of the titles section, of all places! And sometimes they end up alphabetized in the Transitions. Try all of those places and you may find them hidden in there.
