Hi everyone-
I have a problem and have no idea where to look for answers now. I capture my clips to a folder called "All Clips" before I sort through them, which is located in My Videos. When I open up My Documents, everything is fine; when I go to My Videos, everything is fine; but when I open up All Clips, Windows explorer immediately jumps to 100% CPU. I thought I had this problem fixed a few days ago; I booted in safe mode and it worked fine, so I deleted some unnecessary startup programs and installed the newest version of Vegas Movie Studio Platinum. I had no problems with opening All Clips in normal Windows mode. Tonight I captured 3 clips in 3 separate sessions, and on the 3rd one, the problem came back; explorer went up again. Could this be at all Default.sfvidcap-related? For some reason I had two of them- one in My Documents and one in All Clips. I deleted the My Documents one when I booted in Safe mode. Thanks you for taking the time to read this; any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've just picked up Sony Vegas Movie Studio, which is very similiar to Platinum, but I'm afraid I know next to nothing about it yet! Sorry that I can't be of help, either!

LOL Ais! Me too! I have yet to use it though! Although the first editor I ever had, Video Explosion, was almost exactly like it.

I use Sony Vegas 6 but I also know that Movie Studio Platinum is the same as Movie Studio (when it comes to functions and editing) but the Platinum package includes more goodies like Acid sound editor and a special effects package (ACID XMC and Pixelan Spicemaster 2.5 TFX software).

That being said I could not find an answer to your problem and it sounds more like a PC resources problem rather than a problem with the software.

Whenever I have problems with Vegas I go to Sony's forums for tech assistance:

http://www.sonymediasoftware.com/forums/default.asp

You can try checking out the Movie Studio/Video Factory section. It would also help to let people know some tech specs of your PC to get a better understanding of what is going on.

Things like:
1) CPU type and speed (eg.Processor: Pentium 4, 2.6 GHz)
2) Video card (eg. this is under the Display page Chip type: RADEON 9200 SE)
3) Video memory amount (Same page as for #2 - Approximate memory size: 128.0 MB)
4) System RAM amount (eg. 1536 MB)
5) Operating system (eg. WinXP Pro).

If you don't know how to find the specs just click START then go to RUN and type "dxdiag" (without the quotes) click RUN and a new info window shows up with the relevant data on page 1 and the Display tab.

Sorry I couldn't figure out your particular problem though.
