Yes! I went to a yoga class for a couple of months. Had to stop because I just didn't have the time for it. Now I do yoga at home... It gives you an amasing feeling after you do it,doesn't it? What I didn't like were the headaches when I started doing yoga... In the begining I had headaches that would last for days.... Now I don't anymore... But I wouldn't say that yoga is hard! _________________

I used to be able to do the splits. I used to also be able to kick over my head. That's not yoga but it was verrrrrrrry impressive, let me tell you...
And yeah, I said used to. *shuffles away with walker, mumbling about how it's heck to grow old*

I actually took a yoga class in college. It was kind of like doing a martial arts warmup, but without any kicking or punching. So what's the point really? _________________

Quote: | Yogis have always believed that depression is separation from our source. Yoga, including postures, breathing exercises and meditation is the science of positive mental health. Practice Yoga regularly and it will strip away the obstacles that separate you from your source. |
And that is actually true... Well, for me anyway! _________________

I had never seriously tried yoga before, but I had done Tai Chi (which is even more like Martial Arts, E. But without the speed!) and Pilates in the past.
Recently, I thought, "Why don't I get a Yoga DVD, buy a mat, and try it out?" I got one called "AM & PM for Beginners." What ever! Half of the positions I can't even get into! Luckily I also received a "no really, you're a beginner" tape with my mat so I think I'll try that one. (It says the instructor sings! I like her already!) If that's no good, I saw this other DVD called "Just My Size Yoga" that was for less flexible/in shape people. I didn't buy it because I saw a lot of people bashing it in the reviews because it was "way too simple." But I should have realized that "way too simple" is perfect for me. Ha. That'll be my "last stab" at Yoga.
Downward dog? Yeah, like my heels will EVER touch the floor. (Not to mention knees not being bent.)
One thing I LOVED about doing the Yoga last night was how calming it was afterwards. They say you feel connected to the earth and I really did. Like it was breathing under me or something. That sounds weird, I know, but I don't know how else to describe it. I did a little Yoga two summers ago when I was a camp counselor, but it was VERY simplistic because my girls were maybe 8 years old. Hah. |

It doesn't sound weird to me. I know what you mean. I felt it too... _________________
