|
|
Its something that happens to most vidders. You have the greatest song ever for a video- but you see the time count next to it, and its over 5 minutes! Then as youre vidding, you have minute long instrumentals, choruses that repeat about 30 times. Whole segments of the song are not applicable to your piece or LOST in general (perfect example: PolarBear's Ordinary World- he edited out the passage about war abroad because it had nothing to do with his video or LOST). Clips are hard to find, your point becomes redundant and the whole piece starts to annoy you.
Something I have found very useful from the very beginning of my vidding has been the software AUDACITY. As you import your music or other sound, you can mix together, edit out, see the spectrum for more seamless editing. It even has a fabulous "beat finder" so you can time your clips in synch. It has a bunch of effects also, and you can work on more than one piece at a time. Im pretty much self taught on it, its very user friendly. And best of all- its free! Completley!
It works in MAC, WINDOWS and LINUX.

They say that cleanliness is godliness, but I disagree here. I think that TIMELINESS is godliness. I feel totally comfortable saying, "Rocksiren! You are a goddess!" |

This is a great find RS. Those who use Sony Vegas can just edit in the program as it started out as an audio editor but for those using WMM2 this would be an excellent companion program! _________________

Or for Vegas users, even better companion program is Soundforge" GORGEOUS sound with that thing, and completely integrated with Vegas. |

Havent got the hang of soundforge, and probably never will, but thats ok. I dont really like the sound editor that came with PDR, so I use this one. Plus I like being able to "see" the spectrum, for better editing. _________________

Nice thread...
I actually have a song I was thinking of using for a vid (We Are All On Drugs by Weezer, if you've heard it) as a humor-ish Charlie-drug-addict and Hurley-food-addict sort of thing. Anyway, while I like the whole feel of the song and rhythm, I don't think I could handle some of the quick beats with my old WMM. If you could eliminate the beginning instrumentals, I'd really appreciate. I know you can cut parts of songs out with WMM, but I want it to be a "clean" break. LOL.
Here's the YSI link if can help me out. Thanks!

Don't be sorry I've had it way before this thread and I've always wondered what was screwing up the audio in Flash until now. |

Heya Charlie! Did you try AlcoholicPixie's info about the echo effect? (Scroll down a ways to her post.) |
