Thank you ilona! I had this one sitting on the shelves for months and didn't know what to do with it. Finally finished it. I'm glad you liked it. |

Yay! It's here! It's here! I feel sort like I was present at the birth of this one (hm, sweet sentiment or just sorta icky imagery...? You make the call! ).
Anyway, this came out soooooo beautifully. The whole "black and white/present" and "color/past" visual effect is a particular favorite of mine. The audio clips came out so well (I still have major audio clip envy issues, you know... ).
And I'm really coming to love this song, too, BTW! I was just barely familiar with it before this but now that I have a great video to associate it with...
It was nice to see somebody take on the Nadia angle with Sayid (not that I had anything against Dearly Departed Shannon, of course ), since that's barely had the surface scratched, vid-wise.
Anyway, it was fabulous and I'm so glad that I got to be some itty-bitty part of the process! (And thanks for the shout-out! Look it's my name! It's my name! *points at screen, jumps up and down, just generally having a Gollum-moment...* )

Aislynn took the words right out of my mouth, KC. This was so superb. Refreshing to see something with Sayid I love his character and hope they start emphasizing on him a little more for the coming eps.
Great job! I loved it! |

Thank you both! I honestly have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand I'm glad it's over, and on the other hand I feel like I've watched it (in various incarnations) so many gorram times that it's hard to see it as a whole instead of all the little bitty pieces that went into making it.
I guess it's that "you're your own worst critic" thing come back to haunt me. Yet again. |

Cool video KC!
At first the amount of dialog threw me but then I realized the only thing that bothered me was out of your control (the dialog was a bit too loud and overshadowed the song rather than to be additions to it) due to your video editor. The dialog content itself really added to the vid as it accentuated the important emotional parts of "Solitary." My favorite part was the effect in "I know what it's like to hold onto someone" I like how you didn't overuse the grainy effect and it added to the moment when you placed that clip.
Nicely done! _________________

Oh wow, thank you so much. Honestly, WMM isn't the easiest thing to work with especially when you consider voice-overs and such. My sound card is the pits and I get a 'distorted' sound whenever my computer goes over a certain volume so it's really hard for me to guage how well the sounds work together overall.
In the end I'm happy with the vid and that's the best I can say. There's only so much you can do with just last year's clips. Everything else has been done before and then some. I love the Sayid/Nadia dynamic and I wanted to try my hand at something "episodic."
Thanks for your input. Next time I vid (will there even be a next time?) I'll have to go easy on the voiceovers. Haha. Or, just make sure they are as integral to the plot as these are. |
