So! Seeing as this is the first vid I have submitted to LVI, it would be proper to write an introduction, eh? [sorry, I take way too much pride in being Canadian.]
Anyway...
This video is, yes, a PB and J video, but I hope you don't pass it off as typical, fluffy, not-much-thought-went-into-it fanflick because believe me, I thought for many hours about the song and how the C/C relationship fit with its message. I hope that is evident on screen. The song "All or Nothing" is an old one, and I think it is one of those songs that you either adore or despise, so I know there will be people who won't be able to bare the song. But please don't judge the video on that! If you look hard enough, the lyrics do seem to scream [well, gently sing] the current status of Charlie and Claire's relationship, especially viewed at from our Charlie's point of view. It's up to you to interpret how that is, and I hope you won't be dissapointed.
Also, please excuse the fuzziness of the video - I made the mistake of saving it at 6MB, and I will try to save it in a better size so the shots, especially those between transitions, are sharper.
Anyway, this was a meh-ish introduction, but if you have any questions or comments..well you've all been here longer than me so you know what to do. : P _________________

Welcome to LVI, Michelina!
Aww, that was a sweet vid! I, for one, like the song, so that certainly wasn't a problem for me. You did a really nice job showing Charlie's point-of-view through the lyrics. I really could tell that you had indeed put in a lot of thought and care into things.
I liked how this vid put a more sympathetic spin on Charlie (who often I don't get much of a vibe from for some reason). But I could really feel him here, that he really was "saying" the words of the song. Great job with that!
And don't worry about the fuzziness; anybody who's made enough vids knows what happens when you compress under 10 MB! I don't know what program you're using but if it's Windows Movie Maker, most everyone seems to agree that 512 kbps seems to give you about the best quality for the smallest size. Even bigger programs like Sony Vegas let you chose 512 WMV, I'm fairly sure. Anyway, just a hint in case it could be helpful!
Again, welcome to LVI! I'm looking forward to seeing more vids from you and also, hopefully, seeing you around in other parts of the board. We're a friendly, if slightly crazy (in a good way ) bunch around here, I think...

Thank you so much for the kind welcome, comments and tips, Aislynn!
Phew, I'm thrilled and flattered [I've seen your work and LOVE it to bits] that you enjoyed this video. My apologies if I came out sounding all demanding, like "love this video or die" in my intro, but I was so nervous about submitting this video.
But I've just lurked around the forum for the past..hour *cough*, and I've realized that you folks here at LVI are serious about the art of vidding, but are such a laidback and cool, close-knit group as well at the same time. I love that! So merci again, your feedback means so much! _________________

Awww, thank you for that!
Believe me, I understand about being nervous about sending in your first video! I nearly didn't submit "Vertigo" way back when because I thought everybody would hate it! I'm glad that I did it anyway and I'm really glad that you sent in yours. Vidding is so fun and there never seems to be any end to the creative things people come up with. Where else can you get the chance to "make" your own movie, complete with soundtrack and everything?
Thanks again!

That is actually a really good point! I never thought about vidding in that way. And, your Vertigo video was a lot of fun to watch - I now cannot watch the actual polar bear scenes in LOST without cracking up, thanks to your vid and that's a compliment! It was so creative, and I'm surprised but relieved to hear that even fantastic, way-advanced vidders like yourself can get nervous about submitting a vid.

Okay, I am totally new at this LOL, but I'm assuming you mean you want a link where you can download and save the video to your computer...so, I uploaded this vid to You Send It. Just tell me if I got your message wrong, heh.

While I'm at it, here is another Putfile link to the video at a saved size of 10.3MB, if you want a [slightly] clearer picture:

Awwwwww... *blush* Thanks for saying that! I really appreciate it! I've always been running behind most everybody else with vid-editing programs and such. I mean, I just recently made the leap up to WMM 2! So I don't think I've ever thought of myself as advanced, much less fantastic! *hug*
And, BTW, you were right about the download link. A lot of times for some reason people can't get the streaming vid hosting places to work for them. Or, like you said, they just want to save the vid so they can watch it again without having to stream it in. YSI is great in a pinch but some place like Rapidshare is also a good alternate place, downloadable but it lasts for a lot longer than YSI does. Though, you can't use it for your main hosting place if you want to be eligible for a Council Pick Seal, but it's great for a secondary link.
http://rapidshare.de/
They've also been checking out a bunch of other new potential hosting places but I can't find the page at the moment or I'd post the link.
Thanks again!

Wow. Well now I am totally blown away. Seriously, you making the best of WMM just further proves how [modestly] advanced you are...woah, kudos. And no problem! *hugs back*
Thanks for the tips on the download links by the way! I found the page about free video uploading on LVI, I actually looked at it a while ago when I was just a lurker, and totally forgot about rapidshare, heh ...it is much better than YSI, though.
Here is the rapidshare link:

Hee, thank-you! I'm extremely glad the video cheered you up. LOL, you're right, fluff is a nice breath of fresh air from all of the angst in the PB and J fandom right now, but I just didn't want people to think that All or Nothing was just a fluffy C/C vid with no real plot. It is sort of fluffy, but I think it is a little desperate as well, especially from Charlie's point of view, because taking care of Claire and having her trust as a friend [and maybe more] is his way of redeeming himself, and without her...well. Things wouldn't be looking up for Charlie. And I think everyone likes to see him happy, right? Angsty/Angry!Charlie can be pretty depressing. _________________

I was just judging a few videos for the Cp or no CP thing, back in the judges forums, and I watched your video. Withit the first 30 seconds I could tell that you had put TONS of thought into it, and the song really did fit the C/C relationship. When I came here to post my comments, I found I was indeed correct it shows!
I don';t comment on all that many vids anymore. Mostly just good friends on the site and videos that I thought needed some recognition. This would be one of them You really captured the C/C relationship in this vid! It may be to a song that would normally make a non C/C person faint, and it was long, but it was realyl well done! The lyrics did indeed fit at numerous occasions, and it was well edited. You put the effort into making it special, from something as little as a subtle reference to Ethan in "it's now or never" as the camera spun quickly to the left from Claire and Charlie and the clip faded out (yes, I notice the craziest tiny thing ) I thought it was a fine vid, and one of the better of the C/C's. Good job, and keep making videos! |

Thank-you VERY much!
I'm very honored to receive feedback from you - I am a huge fan of your video collection, and I actually have noticed that you're quite selective concerning what videos you comment on, so I'm totally flattered.
I understand that it is no picnic to make a C/C vid, to avoid having people look at the song title/summary and think "I wonder if this is just a plotless PB&J vid" - so my goal with this vid was to try and show Charlie's battle with redemption, how he looks at Claire as his salvation. I hope it worked. And you know, I'm not normally a slow-song type of person, but All or Nothing irresistibly reminded me of Charlie's POV towards his relationship with Claire. So, you know, got inspiration, had to do it.
I'm very happy to see that the video was satisfying enough for you, especially as a non C/C fan - that's pretty remarkable, I can't thank you enough! _________________
