Contest: Rain or Shine
Deadline: September 4th - extended!

Weather. Rain, snow, sun, wind. It's a part of nature, and there have been many great songs written about it. There are also a lot of weather-related events in movies and shows, like the snowstorm in The Fellowship of the Ring, and the creepy winds in Season 5 of the Vampire Diaries! You can choose to use the weather theme metaphorically, it is not required to make your video about physical weather!

This month we'd like to see videos using songs that are weather-related - in the title (for example, Rain by Breaking Benjamin), in the lyrics, or even an instrumental song that sounds like weather! Show us your interpretation of a weather-themed song!

The Rules

Specific Contest Rules
• Make a video with a song that has a title, sound, or lyrics that refer to weather.
• Multifandom is welcome!
• AU and crossovers are allowed.
• Running time should be under five minutes. We suggest three to five minutes.
• The more creative, the better. Don't be afraid to take risks.
• When entering your video on the Submit page, you MUST enter "August 2015 contest submission" exactly in your vid's description.

General Contest Rules:
• Contest submissions should be entered through the Submit page.
• All regular submissions Rules apply.
• Only one entry per vidder.
• Videos already submitted and RELEVANT can be submitted again, but we would rather see something fresh. (Please contact a CM if you wish to enter a previously-submitted video)
• Please do not use Rapidshare, Yousendit, Mediafire, or Sendspace as your only hosting place as the links tend to expire quickly.
• If you're using Youtube as your primary link, please also provide us with an alternative link. Far too often, YT is either disabled or muted by the time the contest is ready to be judged. Mediafire and zshare are just a couple of the sites out there that can be used as reliable backup links. We do realise that there have been a lot of issues with file-sharing websites recently but if you can find anywhere that you're comfortable uploading to and that is easily accessible, that would be great!
• Keep in mind that however you choose to host your video, it must be available to be watched at least until after the deadline has passed. If we can not access your video at the time of judgment it will not be considered.

Something I did was I just searched through my iTunes songs and typed in things like 'Rain', 'Storm' and so on. Then I also googled weather music, lol.

I am probably going to need an extension. I'm going to see how much I can get done this weekend, but I will probably need a few extra days. RL got kind of crazy mid -August and I just haven't been able to get as much work done on my vid as I had hoped.

Could I have one more day (Sept 4). I'm still going to try and finish today, but I need to fill in 2 scenes and adjust some effects. There are a few places my effect is a bit strong and I'm not sure how long it will take me to find the right adjustment.

I am up to the point of trying to render. Vegas said it was low on memory, so I have to go clean up some space so I can finish rendering.
