Um, I'm not sure how to explain this exactly, but if I can find a video on YT for it, I'll post it. I'm trying to figure out how to do a part of a video with the main clip and having another clip pop up every few seconds, kinda like an overlay.

It is an overlay. It looks like a film burn or colour flare type thing, it's basically just a clip you download and put over your main clips.

Just download and play with opacity etc. It's easy
