Lost Video Island

So a video that's in final beta stage, I know will be blocked for music on Youtube.

I'm trying to upload it into Vimeo but I know I will face this hideousness (first image is what I see in Windows Media Player; second image is Vimeo):



A) Are there alternate hosts that don't hate 10,000 Maniacs, unlike Youtube?
and if not
B) What resolution should I save/upload as to avoid making Benedict Cumberbatch look like Emperor Akhenaton?

Addendum: When I set it at 1.0, I run into the issue with transitions and black borders listed in a prior thread, so that's not an option. There must be some way to stretch the file so it shows up properly on Vimeo, though!

Addendum 2: The Pixel Ratio Strikes Back: I saved the .wmv at best quality and then loaded and resaved into a 1.0 frame. Let's see if that works! Standing by for Vimeo to process...
