I'm foreseeing a potentially humongous problem with my August contest vid....
My Sony Vegas really doesn't like when I have a ton of different video clips in one project. Problem is, since the August contest is multi-fandom, I've got lots of clips from about five or six different shows open in this project file. So when I try rendering it (which I did, just to have a preview for myself) it says the memory is too low and won't render.
I could maybe try rendering it in pieces. The only other option I see is to scrap what I have done and split up the song into different segments for each fandom - which is a far cry from what I wanted for this vid. _________________

Based on my experience, Eryn, there's not much you can do when Vegas is being uncooperative. I know it's not much of a solution, at least in the long term, but what I ended up doing was downloading a trial of Sony Vegas HD Platinum 11, creating a new project file and copying everything over. I had to redo the colouring and fix the volume but it allowed me to finish my vid. Not only that but I was able to render a four and a half minute vid in HQ without a single crash. I may even end up getting the full version. I've had it with Pro 8. Either it doesn't like Vista or it's just crap because there's clearly nothing wrong with my computer! _________________

Your best option is to render in pieces. It's a lot easier then it sounds. I've had to do it MANY times. |

That's what I would normally do, Brooke, but as I mentioned in my other post, in my case, nine time out of ten the rendering options box wouldn't even come up so there was no way for me to start the render. _________________

Yeah...I should mention that it would render like a SECOND at a time...which...majorly sucks but sucks less than not rendering at all. Thanks for the comments, guys. _________________
