Hey, I was going through my Google-Alerts and I had one for David Boreanaz; I noticed one for Yolike' and saw it was my vid description. So I clicked on it and found several DB vids.
I clicked on it and it's a website about anti piracy. Is there a way to take the vid down from their site by editing it? |

Can you link to the website in question where your vid is at?
If they're embedding Youtube vid, then you can break the link in a couple of different ways:
1. If they have a place where you can contact them, you can email them and ask them to take it down.
2. You can change the vid's settings at Youtube so that embedding is not allowed. That will then direct people to watch the vid at Youtube.
3. Or to permanently make sure they can't follow it back from there, then you'd have to delete the vid.
If they're sort of using your vid as an "an here's an example of piracy!" like they're trying to get you in trouble in some way, I'd think you definitely want to get it removed from there. If it's more of a DB fansite and they're not directing any sort of a threat at you (and somebody isn't claiming to have made your vid), I'd probably figure it's okay and just leave it alone.
You can tell on your Youtube vid stats how many people are embedding your vid somewhere. Click on that little graph looking symbol next to your total number of view and it will tell you if anybody has your vid embedded on their site. I think most of my recent vids have been embedded/reposted somewhere else, so that in and of itself isn't a concern, it just means that somebody liked it enough to want to share it with people.
However, if there's some sort of anti-piracy or whatever threat going on, then I'd definitely not be comfortable with my vid being used like that and I'd probably seriously consider doing something to break that link.
If you don't have anything on your vid right now that you mind if you lose (like a lot of views or a lot of comments), then you can delete it then reupload it again and that will break the original link. You will, however, lose all of the views and comments. You can also make the new vid unlisted so it doesn't show up on your profile. You have to actually give people the direct link to it for them to be able to find it. You won't get as many "drive-by views" because people can't easily find your vid but if it's something that you're worried about being seen by the "wrong" people, then that's definitely an option to make it fly a little more under the radar.
Hope that all makes sense! |

I don't know what the site is; it's really weird. Like the site is called Yolike and then it seems anti piracy; but then it's all about Bollywood films. It's really weird.
I don't know how one would even know how to search for my vid; and it's not targeted at me 'directly'; they embeded it; but didn't put my Youtube name as the creator. And it's disabled to go back to youtube; when you click on it it doesn't got o you tube it's just goes to full screen.
This is the site. http://www.yolike.com/ |

I entered it into a contest by using it as a response to Becca's vid; will that show up if I list it as 'unlisted?' Like if I re-add it to the 'response to a video'? |

Thanks for the link!
Hm, looking at the site, it seems to be geared towards Indian entertainment so my feeling is that the anti-piracy statement up on their site banner has more to do with them covering their rears when it comes to the Bollywood movies and such they've got listed. I would cautiously think that part should be okay, since it's seems to be just more about entertainment, it's not a "let's get all vidders run out of town as Internet pirates!" sort of site.
What I would probably do if I were you would be to consider denying the embedding on that particular vid. That'll stop it from playing on their site. However, it'll also stop it from playing on ANY site, so if it's something you have here at LVI (or are planning to submit here once we're multi-fandom), then it won't embed on our main site, either. But it's sort of a toss-up between what you feel the most comfortable with. If you don't have it embedded any place like LVI or Livejournal or any other place like that, then turning off the embedding would be a fairly quick fix to break the link with their site and your vid. |

Hm, that I really don't know, sorry! I've never entered a contest that way so I'm not really sure how that all works. What you might could do is just try it and see if it will work as an unlisted response like that. |

It was weird. Canceling the embidding didn't work for the site; so I deleted hte vid and reuploaded it. I don't have vid posted here.
I also listed it; but I doubt they'll readd it again. I think the only reason they added it in the first place was because I used the tag 'David Boreanaz'; so I didn't ad tags. Thanks for all of your help.
Yeah I was confused as to what the Yolike site was really about. |
