I am not really looking for power ballads/80's...Celine Dion type of music. More like Independent singers/songs. No love songs after dark.

I tried to ask Ask Yahoo; they gave me 'In The End' by Linkin Park; that's a really LOUD song. And rap songs

I hope it's not TOO vague.

Is Dave Carter/Tracy Grammer, Disappearing Man, close to what you're after?

Youtube with lyrics

If not, let me know what you want different about it...

It's a good song; just louder then what I am after.

I am doing a video with lots of lyrics; so it's hard to have something too loud; I get paranoid that one will over power the other.

WOW at some more of the songs they posted over at Ask yahoo. I don't remember 'Heaven' by Bryan Adams being sad. Just soft.

I thought I had recommended it to you before. Too loud? Hm. It's pretty quiet compared to a lot of stuff. Sans lyrics, try some Charles Ives: Concord (Sonata No. 2).

A lot of Ives' other stuff is dissonant too, if that's not quite on the money -- try his New England works and The Unanswered Question, all classical. Sometimes they can be dissonant and harsh, as opposed to dissonant and sad, but the more mellow and sad pieces might work. Along the same lines, Edward MacDowell's piano pieces (especially Idyl and Scotch Poem) might be good too.

I highly recommend Troubled Soul by Amy MacDonald or if that's not soft enough, Even God by Charlotte Church
