I'm back with more problems Well, Windows Movie Maker is being stupid and I don't know why. I am trying to "publish my movie" (saving the real file) and the video is only 1 min 50 sec long. It has a good deal of coloring effects, however, and some very fast cuts. It won't publish the movie. It stops randomly and says it can't do it, giving possible reasons (not enough space, source files missing). Of course, I checked these things multiple times and it still is not working. Please help! Why!? Is it because the file is too complex? If so, then....is there no way to save this file? _________________

Can you save it in parts? What I used to do with WMM 1 and 2 back when they would refuse to render was to start by changing the file name (so this next step wouldn't accidentally cause me to lose my vid if I reflexively hit "save" like I was in the habit of doing every 2 seconds with WMM ). Then I'd try deleting the last half of the vid and see if I could render the first half in a good quality.
If that worked, I'd open the original project again (changing the name again, just to be sure ) and delete the part of the vid that just rendered and try rendering what was left. If that also worked, then I'd open a new project, import in both of those pieces, then render them together into the final vid.
Now, sometimes one of those pieces won't render. Then you have to start breaking that section down even further until you get an idea of which clip or clips are causing the problem. Once you can tell which part won't render, then you'll have to probably revid it either with different clips (or try taking the effects off of them and see if it'll render then). You basically just have to play around with it until you get it to render. It definitely sucks when it won't just let you HAVE your vid after you've gone to all that work to make it!
Also something you can try is to just remove the effects and see if it'll let you render the whole vid "plain" like that. If it will, then you know the problem is coming from the effects. If not, you'll know the problem is in one of the clips.
Good luck, I hope you'll be able to get it sorted out soon! |

Thank you so much! I split up the parts and it worked Thank god! WMM was crashing the entire time so there are a bunch of parts of the video that kind of freeze but I've had enough with WMM so I 'm leaving it as is. But thank you so much, this was an absolute lifesaver! _________________
