I liked this a lot; it was very different, and I found it refreshing. It felt more like a short film than a video, but I'm sure that's what you intended.
(Have you seen any Maya Deren stuff? This had the same feel as a lot of that, thanks to the spooky, earth-mother-gone-wrong soundtrack. You'd like that.)
I don't think you needed the rainbow coloring around the violin; that felt a little cheesy for me and I would have liked something a little subtler (in WMM that can be hard to do, I'll admit.)
I liked the pace and I was interested in seeing where things were going. It may have been a bit more oblique than a normal shippy video, but I felt (for me) that was part of why it felt as successful as it did. I like when people take chances as opposed to the same thing, so good job there. _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

Thanks, glad you liked it-- and you're right, I'd have liked a little better tools for shooting and producing the video, the trouble with free software is that you get what you pay for. The quality of the vids here is intimidating, a fact owing to not just equipment but artistic vision, kudos to you.
But my thing is music (and performing it, at that), and so I appreciate your leniency in the visual dept. For me it was gratifying to create a soundscape evoking my fascination with the island itself, which was for me the goal. |
