I'm using DVD ripper and the clips go into sony vegas fine, amazing quality! but there is never any sound with it? I really don't understand why, I'm not sure if before you back - up on DVD ripper there's a option you need to press so you have the sound with it. Or whether it is just sony vegas? I really need audio for my next video, so help would be muchly appreciated (:

Do the clips that you've ripped have sound if you play them back on something like Windows Media Player? Are the clips in .AVI? If it does have sound when played in something other than Vegas, then the lack of audio is coming from Vegas' problem with .AVI audio.

I have to import my .AVI footage into Windows Movie Maker and render the audio I need into .WMA, then import that into Vegas and use it like that.

If there's no sound on the clips when played back with another player, then there must be some setting in there to include or not include audio in your DVD ripper. Hopefully somebody will have the answer for you in that case!

You could also try Googling/other search engine of your choice the name of your DVD ripping program and something like "including audio" and see if it leads you to some sort of instructions on how to do that. Good luck! I hope you're able to get it to work for you!

Thanks so much replying! (:

Yes my clips do have sound when played on windows media player, aw so it's not just me then I thought that it was something I was doing wrong. I'll do what you do then, use windows movie maker for my audio. It's weird how sony vegas doesn't include the audio yet WMM does!

Thanks for your help!
