Namaste!
I don't know about you, but I'm starting to think that the sideways scenarios may actually be sideways flash-forwards. Crazy? At first glance, it probably seems that way. But allow me to explain why it might not be that crazy after all, and why the sideways world could be the castaway's eventual fate.
Here's a snippet from my LostZone column, Claire’s (Freaky? Psychotic!?) Return and Sideways Significance with Jack Shephard
http://www.gamezone.com/news/02_25_10_01_01PM.htm
"Think about it: just because we’re seeing them now doesn’t mean the flash sideways have occurred yet. As far as we know the parallel world was created the moment Juliet ignited the bomb. But with the way the story is developing, it feels like there's more to it than that – like all of our castaways are going to be led down a path that eventually guides them to the sideways world – not to erase their island identities but to ultimately take them to the world in which they truly belong.
"...What will become of the rest of the castaways? We've known since 2004 that Claire was meant to raise her child; perhaps that isn't the only certainty."
So what do you think? Could it be that the flash sideways scenarios are a sign of the castaways' future? |

I don't get how they could be flash forwards. But that's just me.
If anything the island scenes are either a dream or Juliet's plan worked and this is what really happened. But flash forwards? No. |
