Lyrics. I seriously love this duo, as people may have guessed from my three videos in total using them. If I keep doing this, I'm doing every song off the 'Drum Hat Buddha' CD (which '236-6132' is also off of.) It's a shame Dave passed at such a young age.
Gentle Arms of Eden
On a sleepy endless ocean, when the world lay in a dream,
there was rhythm in the splash and roll, but not a voice to sing.
So the moon shone on the breakers and the morning warmed the waves,
'til a single cell did jump and hum for joy as though to say:
"This is my home; this is my only home.
This is the only sacred ground that I have ever known.
And should I stray in the dark night alone,
rock me, Goddess, in the gentle arms of Eden."
Then the day shone bright and rounder 'til the one turned into two,
and the two into ten thousand things, and old things into new.
And on some virgin beach-head, one lonesome critter crawled,
and he looked about and shouted out in his most astonished drawl:
"This is my home; this is my only home.
This is the only sacred ground that I have ever known.
And should I stray in the dark night alone,
rock me, Goddess, in the gentle arms of Eden."
Then all the sky was buzzing, and the ground was carpet-green,
and the wary children of the wood went dancing in between.
And the people sang rejoicing when the fields were glad with grain,
this song of celebration from their cities on the plain:
"This is my home; this is my only home.
This is the only sacred ground that I have ever known.
And should I stray in the dark night alone,
rock me, Goddess, in the gentle arms of Eden."
Now there's smoke across the harbor, and there's factories on the shore,
and the world is ill with greed and will and enterprise of war.
But I will lay my burden in the cradle of your grace,
in the shining beaches of your love and the sea of your embrace.
This is my home; this is my only home.
This is the only sacred ground that I have ever known.
And should I stray in the dark night alone,
rock me, Goddess, in the gentle arms of Eden. _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

Aww, I loved the care-free air to it. I lol'd at the PING! when Des hit execute. The glowy effect to the clips was a nice touch. Good luck in the contest |

Thanks, blackwolf! (And kudos on the Sayid avatar, although the expression on his face makes me snicker each time I see it.) Glad you went 'aww'--that was the emotion I was going for! Good to know the glow a) was visible and b) worked, too.
(And yes, the ping was in the song--I was all, 'What the heck can I do with that?!' and then '... aha!') _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

That was sweet Kate! I really enjoyed your lyric interpretation. Especially the Locke part! And I liked your wipe transitions. Good luck in the contest. _________________

Nikki, forgot to toss up a thanks last night. Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. You pinpointed one of the three spots I had in mind a while ago:
* The 'lonesome critter (...) shouting out in his most astonished drawl' had to be Locke.
* The 'wary children of the woods' with Mini-Ben running into Richard and being cautious/intrigued.
* The 'smoke across the harbor' with the black smoke.
Those shot choices jumped out at me anyway, and they're what I started the video knowing I would put in. So good eye spotting one!
And again, thanks. _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

I really like the mood/feel of this vid. The lyrics really do a good job illustrating how most of the Losties have felt about the island at one point or another. Good luck! |

Aw, this was wonderful! I love the song, it was so nice and perfect for an ensemble video! Your clip choices were awesome, you chose all the great clips of the Losties! Your lyric interpretation was just fantastic, especially for the Locke parts. Ooo and loved the Jun bits, especially at "embrace" of Sun holding Jin. Also, I really liked your coloring and it's glowy brightness, it was really nice! Good luck in the contest! |

Thanks, Jo, elora, and Kate ^ 2! Kate, I figured you'd like the Jun parts, haha--but glad you caught the 'embrace' part of it as being intentional. The Locke section's probably my favorite out of the vid anyway, too, since the lyrics jumped right out at me for him. _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. Thanks, Emma--glad you liked it! Lyric interpretation is really my main strength when vidding, I think, so I'm glad you thought I did well on that account. _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

Thanks, Jemma! (That's why I want that instrumental or non-English song contest, since I won't be able to fall back on the lyrics...) _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.
