So vegas was working fine with my avi files until a few days ago. If I open an existing project it says that all the avi clips are offline and won't let me drag new ones into the timeline.
I uninstalled DIVX and reinstalled but no luck.

Any ideas as to the problem? Around this time I did download DVD Decrypter and AutoGK but as they didn't work I uninstalled them (which was when I noticed the problem)

Thank yous in advance to anybody that has any input

Vegas doesn't seem to be friends with AVI files, really. Mine doesn't like the sound most of the time, and sometimes it doesn't like the images. Try converting it to mpeg or something -- www.mediaconverter.org is magic.

You might try googling various combinations of the program names with something like "AVI offline in Vegas" and see if you find somebody else who's had the same problem. That's what I try to do whenever I end up with something that goes wrong like that. Then I cross my fingers and hope that somebody has the solution!

If you can't find anything, you might try a System Restore back to a date before you installed DVD Decrypter and AutoGK. It sounds like one of them changed a setting somewhere that is now affecting Vegas even after the program has been removed.

Good luck, hon! That's so frustrating when something causes a problem in a program that it didn't even have anything to do with!
