I've managed to download a trial of Sony Vegas Platinum 8. Problem is I cant get certain vids onto the timeline. It only seems to be the DivX file videos. My sis says she had to convert her avis and DivX to mpg to get the clips to move onto the timeline on her program.
Does this sound right? and if so, does anyone know of a free or trial file converter because my one has expired.

Well, my problem was that I'd downloaded a new DivX update file and it must have made all DivX my default program but once I made VLC my default program for opening the media files they all went on to the timeline no prob
