Hi! I've recently got back into vidding as a friend gave me Sony Vegas Pro 9. I used to run Vegas 7 and had problems importing clips but using the fourCC changer always fixed it. But it wont work for Pro 9! I've tried also ripping new copies incase my originals were the problem. I'm at a lose! If anyone could help I'd appreciate it!

Hey there, Mary! So sorry to hear about your Vegas problems! Let me start by asking you a few questions, just so we can kinda see if we can suss out where the trouble is.

What sort of problem exactly are you having with importing your clips? Will they not import at all? You get only audio or video? Vegas crashes when you try to use them?

I'm not familiar with Vegas Pro 9 (I'm still with Vegas Movie Studio 6 ) but it seems like some issues affect all of the versions, whether Pro or Movie Studio. For example, I can't get audio when I import .AVI into my Vegas. I tried the FourCC changer as well but it never worked for me. So if I want audio, I have to import it into Windows Movie Maker, render the clip I need into .WMV, then import that into Vegas and strip the audio off of it that way.

Anyway, hopefully you can figure out what's causing the problem and get back to vidding again soon!

thanks for getting back to me Aislynn! I'm currently only getting audio importing no actual footage. If I could at least get the footage I'd be happy, but alas it never works the way you want. I haven't experienced any crashing yet. I'm running vista 64 and from what I've found only there have been some problem with people using Pro 9 on vista 64. Is movie studio similar to vegas? My friend also has a copy of that (not sure which) and i was considering using that instead.

I'll try giving the converting to .WMV a try to see if that works too. Thank again!

When it's audio and no video that's usually something the fourCC changer will fix... but it has happened to me that it still didn't fix it... something random that I tried that worked was just copied and pasted the file in the original folder... and then used the fourCC changer on the copy of the file and imported that... and for whatever reason that worked... dunno if it will work for you but it's worth a shot

i did try that. I usually make copies of originals when changing the code so I won't mess up the file. I just tried importing the file into Windows Movie maker and was having the same problem, no video import just audio.... I'm completely perplexed....
