|
|
I need some help editing some dialogue.I want to use a section of dialogue but remove the background noise so I just have the spoken audio.
In 316 there is a scene where Kate tells Jack she will see him at the airport. However as she is saying this there is a phone ringing in the background.I am underlaying this audio under a scene with Jack and Kate talking on the phone. So the ringing phone is both annoying and distracting.
I was wondering if someone could help me by editing out the ringing phone so I just have the dialogue part where Kate tells Jack she will see him at the airport.

I'm not sure that that's possible, unfortunately. (Though if anybody knows of a way, I'd love you forever if you'd tell us! )
What I've done in the past to try to minimize background noise from audio clips is to clip it as close to the actual words as possible with a fade over the beginning and end of the words (usually helps to mute the background a bit but the words are usually not affected much). I cut out any significant pauses between words and sentences (leaving them where they are on the timeline so that the words aren't all rushed together ) to try to remove the background noises in between. But if the phone ringing is directly under the words themselves, I'm really not sure what can be done to remove or mute it down, sorry!
I hope somebody can give you better help than that! *fingers crossed* Good luck!

Thanks for the advice.
Unfortunetly the ringing is pretty much under the words.
I don't know very much about editing audio but I was hoping there was some kind of audio program that would allow you to seperate audio tracks.
I will try what you suggested and see if it helps reduce the ringing.I hadn't thought of fading into the audio, that might cut down on some of it.
Thanks again.

ya thats nearly impossible without losing important data in the audio. you would need the raw footage and work with that, sadly abc doesnt release the raw footage anywhere. _________________

I downloaded the 30 day free trial of Sony Sound Forage Audio Studio and the voice eraser.I was able to play around with it and that seemed to soften the ringing.Between that and trimming the clip as close to the words as I could I think it will make it so I can use it.I am also going to have the clip as soft as I can have it while still making the words audible.
It is too bad they don't release the raw footage because I think it would be pretty easy to edit then.
