The song I decided to use for my video is giving me trouble, because at the end of the song, even though there is no more music, it technically still goes on for w few more seconds before it is officially over. The problem is now after my movie is done I have a black screen at the end for a few seconds after my last clip, and it is really annoying me. So the question is, in Windows Movie Maker, can you trim off the end of a song? I think I recall reading somewhere in there help section at one time that you could, but I don't remember where I read that and how to do it. Anyone? Please, I am going out of my mind!

Yeah you can

Just go to the end of the song you're using and there should be a sybol with 2 red arrows and you can just move it until the part of the song is gone

Hi there!

You trim the song the same exact way you trim a clip on the timeline. When you have your song on the timeline, go to the very end of it and you should see the where the song sort of trails off. If you put your cursor on the edge of the clip, the cursor will turn into a little box with an arrow in it. Once you see that, hold down the mouse button, and drag the clip back to wherever you want it to cut it down.

It's fairly simple to do and it's made a little easier because in WMM, you can see the song wavelength on the timeline, so you can see where it peaks and falls off, and it's easier to trim the end a bit.

Though, I suggest leaving a couple seconds on the end, just for insurance purposes. I had one vid I did in WMM, and every single time I tried to upload to YouTube, it would cut off the end of the video! So it's a good idea to leave just a few seconds of black to avoid this...

Hope this was helpful to you!!
