I STARTED MAKING A LOST VIDEO INTO A LAPTOP, AND USING WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER. WHEN I FINISHED IT, AND WANTED TO SAVE IT, THE PROGRAM SAVED A PART OF THE VIDEO AND NOW I HAVE ONLY 48 SECONDS. I DUNNO IF IT'S THE LAPTOP'S FAULT OR THE CLIPS. (I HAVE ENOUGH MEMORY, MANY GB)

Have you tried rendering it (saving as movie ) again? If it still only will render part of it, then you might try this:

1. Save the project file with a different name because you don't want to risk accidentally destroying your original project. (Ask me how I know this... Yes, I once did that myself, eek! )

2. After you've saved, delete the entire last half of your vid, then try rendering the first half. If that works, then undo your delete (or open your project file with the new name again if it won't let you undo) and delete the first half of your vid.

3. Render the second half. If that works, close that project file, import both rendered pieces and put them back together on the timeline. Try rendering that and see if that gives you your entire vid rendered into .WMV.

Now, it's probable that one of these steps will fail if there's something "wrong" (for lack of a better thing to call it) in one of the clips you're using. There's also the possibility that you may be a little low on hard drive space itself. WMM often requires several GBs of hard drive space to render and so if you're getting close to filling up the drive, even if you seem to have several GBs still to spare, it might be close enough that WMM is having an error.

But hopefully something will do the trick for you! I know how frustrating it is when it just won't work right! Good luck!

PS - There's also our WMM Guide here that has all of this in more detail as well as other troubleshooting tips. If you're using Vista, some of it may not apply, I'm afraid but there still might be something useful there, you never know!
