For some reason I'm curious as to what music you all like enough to pay the bucks to see a live show...
So list any shows you are proud (or not proud) to have attended in your lifetime....
I've seen:
The Offspring (maybe my favorite)
Millencolin (unexpectadly awesome!)
Linkin Park (sucked. yawn)
Blindside (not too bad really)
Mudvayne (can't really judge since I wasn't in the pit. but their whole set sounded like a double bass screaming fit)
The Advantage (in a room the size of a classroom and I was in front. VERY SWEET)
Saliva (horrible. they really brought out the 'lame' in their music)
Papa Roach (okay. Not bad but not great)
Skindred (VERY sweet and I actually got to talk to Benji after the show!)
Come on people - I want to know who's seen who! _________________

I really don't go to many concerts--and the ones I have been I will be made fun of for...but i'll spill
1995-Boys 2 Men. my defense...it was 1995.
1998-Ani Difranco. Only got the ticket because my twin was in the hospital--it rocked, but silly bitches kept stealing our seats. You don't mess with Ani's fans LOL.
huge gap
2002-Aerosmith
2003-Aerosmith
2004-Aerosmith
YEAH i'm from massachusetts and have been genetically programmed to LOVE Steven Tyler and Joe Perry. Plus I got to see Run DMC-Kid Rock-Filter, and KISS just to name a few of their starter bands.
2005-MUSE/Razor Light. I've been obsessed with MUSE since i heard Our Time is Running Out on an ALTER EGO alternative station 2 years ago. I really thought it was radio head, but it felt a little too hard to be. Anyways all week the radio has been announcing a 15 dollar concert at Providence College and I kind of ignored it because of a family member in the hospital . I told her about the show and she said go--so we went and got general admission tickets and showed up mad early. Unfortunately my twin sister is a dick and made us go feed her halfway across campus.
By the time we got there the line to get in was wrapped around the building. We got in finally and got up against the metal jersy barriers against the stage on the lefthand side. I figured if anything we'd go deaf from the speaks and maybe see the lead singer across the stage--no..the lead singer was on our side of the stage--and we had a perfect view of the base player and drummer. The engery was just amazing and it was the best live show I've ever been too--of course I haven't seen many bands, but come on ...its MUSE.
The only bad part was Matt (lead singer) plays the piano&guitar--so when he played the piano he left out of our view, but he is forgiven for how awesome he played. I need to shut up...but I suggest checking out their CDs.
///bands i'd currently like to see///
SKINDRED (damn you enchirito)
The Soundtrack of our Lives
My Chemical Romance

Seeing how much of a music freak I am, I've been to surprisingly few concerts.
Here's my list (you'll have to excuse my wordiness, I'm at work and bored and this is amusing me!):
Moxy Fruvous - (1998) SO cool. They were playing for free at a university and my friends and I were the only ones there who were actually INTO the concert. We were standing right in front of the stage and the bandmembers were LAUGHING at us because we knew every lyric to every song. Including the lyrics to songs from their album that had just come out 4 days previously.
Ani DiFranco - (1999) Went with my best friend and her girlfriend and felt like a 3rd wheel the whole night (because EVERYONE was there with their girlfriends!) other than that, quite a good show except the opening band SUCKED and stayed onstage for longer than Ani did!!!
Great Big Sea - (1999) Saw them at a music festival. My friends and I drove for 4 hours for the sole purpose of seeing GBS. They rocked, we managed to push our way to the front for most of it.
Guster - (1999) Saw them at the same music festival as GBS. I hadn't heard of them before this but I was SO pleasantly surprised. They were the best act of the night and I immediately went and bought their CD. We got to meet them later in the day and they signed my CD. We also saw 54-40 and Blue Rodeo at the same festival but didn't pay a huge amount of attention to them.
Matthew Good - (2003) Saw him 2 years ago on his first solo tour. It was a really good show except there were a bunch of freaks in the front row who kept trying to crowd surf (during slower paced songs at that) and it actually came to the point where Matt stopped mid-song to scream at them. He was so pissed off he didn't even do an encore . Yeah, Matt's a TAD moody. |

Same here.
I was also dragged to plenty of country concerts when I was younger. You can take the girl out of hicksville...
Alabama (which I still think is cool)
Reba McIntyre (sp?)
The Kentucky Headhunters (barf)
insert other random country singers here
Savage Garden (mom was a huge fan)
Sugar Ray (on accident, for free)
Eric Milligan (totally obscure broadway guy)
I feel like I'm missing one. I've seen more broadway musicals than concerts, and they're live too so they should count.
CATS
Rent (twice)
Miss Saigon
Aida
Jesus Christ Superstar (revival, twice)
The Rocky Horror Show (revival)
Hair (not broadway, City Center starring a buch of broadway stars though - Idina Menzel... etc.)
And then there are broadway and off-(off-off-off)broadway plays:
The Invention of Love (on broadway)
The Late Henry Moss (off broadway with Ethan Hawke, we met he and Uma after the play!)
The Mercy Seat (off broadway with Sigourney Weaver and Liev Schreiber, god I love him.)
Wow, I'm a dork!
People I would LIKE to see (or wish I had seen) in concert are: David Gray, Chantal Kreviazuk, eastmountainsouth, Coldplay, U2, Phantom Planet, Queen, The Ramones, Metallica, countless others. |

Reba McEntire
Brad Paisley
Joe Nichols
But they were all three at the same concert. It's the only one I've ever been to. Is that sad? _________________

Oooo, fun!
Let's see...my first concert was Alanis Morissette and she was awesome!!
The radio station here puts on this annual show called 'A Day in the Zone' - they've been doing it for about 12 years now, and I've been to a few of them. Anyways, here's the list (off the top of my head). I've seen:
Alanis Morissette
Weird Al Yankovich (plays at the state fair like very year)
10,000 Maniacs
Hootie & The Blowfish
Blessid Union of Souls
Uncle Cracker
Sixpence None the Richer
Avril Lavigne
Sugar Ray (sucked, this was before they got all poppy and fun)
Macy Gray
Live
Train
Melissa Etheridge (she's really fun!)
Smashmouth
Everclear
Augustana
I'm sure there's a few I'm missing, but that's the gist of it. The majority of these guys I saw at A Day in the Zone. I think my most favorite concert was the Hootie/Blessid/Avril concert and Everclear & Smashmouth last year - that was totally awesome.
As far as shows I want to see, I would give anything to see:
Counting Crows
Barenaked Ladies
Green Day
Rufus Wainwright
Tom Petty _________________

Breaking Benjamin
Seether
Daughtry (twice)

Alice in Chains
Velvet Revolver

I've been to quite a few concerts but the best concert ever was The Killers. They are an amazing live band!! I totally enjoyed Sarah McLachlan's concert, too, though. She's such a sweetheart!
The one band I still really, really need to see in a live concert is Muse. _________________

I wanna see the American Idol concerts too! I LOVE that show, seriously. TV4 is airing the 7th season now over here and I watch it every night even though I've spoiled myself to know who won lol, David Cook rocks!
I love going to concerts and especially festivals next year I'll be 18 so that makes me wanna take a car with a few friends and go to a festival _________________

I'm a bit odd in that I love music but I'm not so crazy about going to see live music. I think it's standing for long periods of time - I'm actually that lazy! lol I've still been to a few concerts though. I like going to see bands that aren't very successful or are on the verge of being successful.(mainly cause they're cheap! lol)
When I was little I went to see S Club 7 (YAYZ!! )
And I went to see someone else really random when I was little but I can't remember now.. *ponders*
And then a coupla years ago, I went to see Gym Class Heroes which was really cool cause it was before anyone had heard of them, when they were kinda just starting out. Madina Lake supported them and they were really unknown at the time aswell.
A few weeks ago a friend dragged me along to see You Me At Six which is a little punk rock band that's just starting to get themselves a little bit of airtime, which is cool cause they were pretty good. They were supported by Tonight Is Goodbye and Attack, Attack... one of which was crap and one was really good but I forget which was which.
And then in a coupla months, I'm going to see The Mighty Boosh live show which isn't technically music but I'm just sooooooooooo excited about it - I might die!! lol... And afterward we're gonna go out in Wolverhampton and apparently Noel and Julien tend to 'hit the town' after a show and hang out with fans in bars and stuff so we're gonna stalk them! _________________

Same. The only one worth mentioning is Coldplay and Elton John.
I saw a bunch of random concerts when I was in high school (90's) like, All-4-One, Twista, and Boys 2 Men. _________________
