Lost Video Island

I have a friend who is getting into vidding. She's trying to download Sony Vegas 8.0, but I just realized that she has Windows Vista, and I heard that Vegas doesn't work well at all in Vista. Did I hear correctly? Does it work at all, or are there a few glitches/issues to deal with? If anyone could give me some solid info on this, it would be really appreciated.

Hmmm there's actually some mixed stuff out there as to whether it will work or not, some people have said they have problems with it and then others are saying that it works fine with vista.

I know that 7 works with vista, the one thing I would tell your friend is to try the trial on her computer first

I'm using Vegas 8 with Vista & it works all right....but just tell your friend that, when they're editing to switch the quality of the Video Preview tab from 'Best' to 'good' or 'preview'. I don't think Vista can handle the 'best' mode....

Ah, in the beginning Vista had a lot of issues with software compatibility. But they have pretty much worked out all the bugs so far. Tell her to make sure she has SP1 installed for Vista and like charlie said, install the trial version first.

It's a fully working trial, it just only lasts for so many days.
