This is something pretty interesting, both for LOST theories AND something that's actually taking place in our world RIGHT NOW.

The LHC (Large Hadron Collider) is a particle accelerator that may help scientists learn more about the Higgs boson and dark energy, which is said to open up black holes and possibly a wormhole that would lead to a different dimension or universe.

The creators of LOST have actually been following this and have put the actual science into the show, and ironically enough, the LHC looks VERY similar to a dharma symbol.

The LHC will be firing up sometime in the next couple of months and they will start colliding particles, which has spouted a freak-out that a black hole could be created right here on Earth. Scientists, though, like Stephen Hawking, have argued that even IF one were created, it'd be so small it would pull itself into unexistence.
