I'm sorry, I didn't want to upset you - it wasn't me who hyped that kiss so much.
But I think what makes the kiss spectacular is Sawyer's noble sacrifice. The whole scene was very emotional. But of course there will always be people who don't like what they're doing with a particular ship.
Did Damon and Carlton really say that girls would love Eggtown? I only remember some of the spoiler sources saying that. I hated that episode - mostly because the trial was so lame.

| I agree Joon. I really liked the Skate kiss because it was a HUGE character moment for Sawyer. Sawyer has gone from self loathing con man to Self sacrificing hero. Its really quite beautiful. I think thats why they've been hyping the scene so much because it showed such a character development for Sawyer that they have been building up all season. Plus it also drives Kate's story on what she has to do back home. Note im saying this as neither a Jater or Skater but a person who loved both relationships and really viewing it through the story of the show. |

Don't worry, you didn't upset me  I just get a little mad with the writers because they make Jate/Skate scenes seem absolutely fantastic when really, they aren't if you aren't a huge Jate/Skate fan. Sorry if I came off sounding bitchy 
And yeah, I believe they did. There's a thread on the site somewhere with a quote saying that girls would like the episode when really it depends. I think the writers are kind of biased because they're big Jate/Skate fans =\ |

I've always thought that the writers are biased. Someone should write them a letter reminding them that some people still like Jun, DesPenny, PB&J, etc. 
I'm not dissing Jate or Skate tho. I really did like the Skate kiss in the finale.

Yeah, for me the reason the kiss was so good was because of the reason behind it.
But for a kiss in general it was Des/Penny because that was such a huge moment. |

They were both very spectacular kisses. However the one that Damon and Carlton have been continuously referring to is Sawyer/Kate. My guess is that they did not want to say anything at ALL about the DesPenny kiss because that would mean OMG Des and Penny will be reunited. So they didn't want that getting out too soon. The Sawyer/Kate kiss was expected, because we knew that they were separated from since the reveal of who the O6 were. So pimping that spectacular kiss wouldn't have given away the other one.

I still dont see the Skate kiss as spectacular though. I think they hyped it to much for my liking. I thought it was gonna be mega-awesome but it was meh.
The reason behind it is awesome, because Sawyer's finally removed his head from his ass and is being a man and stepping up and doing something for others, that no one on that helicopter thought of doing - sacrificing his rescue so that his friends can be rescued. So maybe they should've hyped up someone doing something, like "there's a huge sacrifice one of the characters makes" blahblahblah. But the kiss itself I felt wasnt spectacular
